I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I received my Passport. One of the managers was also concerned about my safety as he noticed some people loitering outside the offices talking to us. Well done! Keep up the good work towards an integrated and safe environment in our beautiful province, KZN.

Overall Rating: RATING = minus 5 SHOCKING SERVICE!The attitude and service of Derrick Naidoo, the manager at Tongaat Home Affairs, is simply awful and unacceptable. I spoke to him this morning and asked him how can I COLLECT MY ID that has been there since FEB 2022 according to DHA Head Office. I've been back every month to try and collect it but stand in the lines all day long outside the gates and never get in to simply collect an ID!! How long can it take to get someone to sign for the ID and move along to the next person??? His tone is immediately defensive, argumentative, aggressive and full of a million excuses blaming systems letting them down, loadshedding, Seta, etc etc. The staff are so lax and couldn't care less, the attitude is not one of service to their customers, but as if they are above everyone else and doing us a favour! They should all be fired, or at least sent on CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING.Derrick Naidoo simply told me that I must go back (after 6 visits to date) to stand in the line as that's how it works. No appointments! It's a first come first serve he said.Well Derrick Naidoo, you are no example for the Dept of Home Affairs I'm sad to say. No batho Pele principles in you attitude. On top of this, the attitude of the security guard is unacceptable - not the right fit for a customer service government establishment - they just simply LOCK THE GATES BEFORE CLOSING and say that's all for today!! With people like this in service, our country has no hope of coming right.

Lazy and incompetent staff. They're management principles and people ethics are abysmal. They act as if you're doing them a favor. Writing this in the queue that I've been waiting for 2.5 hours already cause they're offline" for "45 minutes"."

I went to pick up my child's birth certificate. The guard at the gate said that their systems were off line and I must give him both id's and R500 and they will get the certificate ready for me the next day.

The service is unacceptable, the guards are drinking alcohol on site and demanding for money to enter, not to mention, the staff is requesting for R500 for my son's birth certificate, and consist on the parents leaving their ID. Highly unprofessional.

The staff here needs to have a red bull every morning as they absolutely slow, Management of the ques needed to be looked into and their systems also need updating. The public can't be standing outside in the hot sun waiting for hours to get their documents ,absolute madness. Better to get some documents via the bank like ID and passports.

Unfortunately one cannot rate the service at this institution because there is no such thing. If the employees can stand around and chat with each other and just ignore the public, then what service must you rate?

Gave 1 star because that's the lowest rating available. Pathetic service. Bribery and corruption from the second you step out of your vehicle. No walk in for passports/smart id

If I could give a sub zero rating I would. There is a ludicrous system that is inefficient. Staff are just not motivated and plain rude and disrespectful. I was offered by the car guard he would make a plan for me for R600.Tongaat, should take lessons from the dept of home affairs Randburg, they are top notch
