La Vista Lodge

La Vista indeed - absolutely incredible views over Plettenberg Bay! Big rooms with a huge bathroom that included a great shower with two heads, a rarity in South Africa for us. Great staff too - we were warmly greeted by a gentleman, I believe his names was Amos, who was happy to help with everything from luggage to drinks to a fantastic dinner spot recommendation. Great spot.

If you are looking for five star treatment and a view and facilities to match you cant do better than this establishment.The view amenities and service are World class with the added touch of being surprised by a Food Forest.The staff are most accommodating and make every effort to make ones stay memorable.As a romantic getaway I would highly recommend La Vista Lodge and nature lovers wont find a better place to relax and enjoy the view and surroundings.

Adé & his team were so accommodating when we looked for an affordable; yet luxurious place to stay in Plett over the December holidays. We were upgraded to the honeymoon suite with the best views of the Plettenberg Bay area imaginable. The staffare all so kind & accommodating- Amos went out of his way to make pur stay as comfortable as possible. R&R to the max! The breakfasts are 5 star as well! Excellent quality & selection. Cant wait to visit La Vista Lodge again!

La Vista has just formerly reopened following Covid driven closures - we were their first official guests and it did not disappoint. All of the staff are extremely friendly, and nothing is too much trouble for them.The property itself is perfectly located for some fantastic views of the lagoon and ocean, and the rooms are very well appointed. For me the true test of a hotel is how well I sleep there - they get 10/10 on this point! The beds are super comfortable and the location means there is very little noise - waking up to the sun over the ocean is a bonus!I'd recommend this hotel to everyone!

The staff at La Vista is highly attentive, going above and beyond to ensure that guests feel welcome and taken care of. Breakfast was delicious every morning and offered a good selection of options. I also found the garden and pool area very inviting and relaxing. The location is ideal for trips to nearby beaches and attractions in Plettenberg Bay. Overall, my stay at La Vista was wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable vacation in South Africa.

Our suite was nothing but a 'converted' basement which was musty, very badly ventilated and poorly soundproofed..We could hear footsteps and conversations from the upstairs office. In addition, this is the only place we stayed at where the property does not own a generator and has no other energy alternative during load shedding. Very embarrassing. How are you expecting to receive customers without providing such a basic thing as electricity?Also, the towels stank really bad and the house coat provided was not washed after previous visitors as it was also full of someone else's hair. One last thing, we asked whether it was possible to get a packed breakfast due to early checkout and were told that it's not a problem & to our disappointment we left empty handed as nothing was prepared for us, despite the fact that we paid for this with our room costs. We are really not fussy, but compared to other accommodations we visited, this place is a mess! Avoid at all costs!Ps. Thanks for the complementary wine but that doesn't make up for the bad experience

We arrived last minute without a reservation. The receptionist was very accommodating and found us a room. The room was impeccably clean and tidy. This is the view at our excellent breakfast.

Unfortunately we had a rather negative experience, therefore the rating. We booked the honeymoon suite number 1 for one night. As we arrived in the evening, the young man at the reception told us, that the suite was double booked by mistake and that we had to take another room with a downgrade (room number 5 in the basement, without a view). The young man told us, that we will have a compensation and a bottle of wine. (He forgot the bottle of wine by the way) Okay mistakes happen, we thought its not that bad. The next morning we had to pay for our stay, thats when the BIG shock came. The lady offered us a 10% discount of the price for the honeymoon suite, which was still higher, than the regular price for room nr 5. After that she offered us a 20% discount - STILL more money, than the regular price for the downgrade room, in which we slept. After that we showed her the regular price for room number 5 in our booking app on the smartphone. After that we payed the normal price for room number 5 So our compensation" was paying the regular price for the downgrade after bargaining for the price! This is very unprofessional and we were very disappionted. We left the facility with a very negative feeling. This is very sad

Nice view for 200 USD a night BUT Highway N2 right next to the hotel. Should have checked the map before. However, that’s a real downside. Also load shedding for 6 hours during our stay. No alternative power available, also WiFi did not work. In addition staff starts at 7:00 am being quite noisy laughing and chatting. They also celebrated a staff party at night right above our room and blocking social areas of the guest house.Breakfast was far below average. Only option was English breakfast with not toasted toast. Also coffee was worth to skip.Our room (5) located in the basement was quite smelly. Yes, it was huge and comfortable. But the smell coming from the Bathroom was not good.
