Chaka's Rock Chalets

We had a wonderful stay from 30 Dec for week. The staff was friendly and always willing to assist us with information or needs. Truly a wonderful experience we had at the complex. Going back there the end of this year again. Short walking distance to all beaches.

Units are well equipped and neat and clean. But having to walk a km to the beach is not nice. Also if you ask R2400 a night how do you justify asking extra for kids to use the jungle gym?? And since when isn't hand soap supplies??

Apartments and chalets in a walking distance to the different beaches. Property in a standard condition and play area for kids is not in good shape & should be red taped. Some bathrooms are newly renovated. Service at reception is excellent and issues are resolved instantly which makes us guests happy

Very friendly staff, and great service. chalets are great and it's so close to everything and the beach. Couldn't get a better location than this.. and the view from unit 24 is simply amazing.

This complex of chalets is a beautiful place to bring the family! There are many activities on site for the kiddies (Minigolf, fun activities planned by the chalet, jungle gyms, trampoline, outdoor chess, swimming pool with a shaded area for the adults to relax) and a great spa to revitalise the adults. The kitchens for the 6 sleeper chalets are a bit compact however they get the job done, the small appliances in the kitchen could use a little uplift. They have installed wifi but still have a few kinks as two of the 5 five chalets we booked had no internet access from the modems but that isn’t a train smash they’ll get it up and running full force. The bedding and linen was up to standard of a 4 star hotel in my opinion; the bathrooms were just redone and they look absolutely stunning! The main bedrooms of the chalets have air conditioning but not to worry the fans in the other rooms are very effective and act as their own miniature aircons so to say. The hospitality was amazing and security patrols during the evening after hours to ensure the safety of the residents. Overall I would recommend these chalets to other families coming to Durban looking to stay right next to the beach at Salt Rock!

Very disappointing. Looks great in the pics but the resort and especially the chalets are old and dilapidated. Kids play area is run down. Broken beds, dirty floors and pillows. Dirty shower. Worn and stained bed linen and towels. Rotting cupboards. Overall hygiene not up to scratch. For those with kids, due to the area, monkeys are rampant here. Situated in a beautiful area, but for the price, not worth it at all.

Rooms not stocked. Been here multiple times but this was the worst. No bedding for sleeper couch. No plates. No casserole dishes. Less and terrible pots.No board games. Dstv kept going offJust overall was disappointed.

We booked in, 30min later we booked out. The place was filthy dirty. You could stil see the previous persons grease marks in the kitchen, on the tables, on the windows. We felt so sick just standing there. We are not germ freaks but this was unacceptable!!
