They are very helpfulTheir meat is of good value and qualityThe butchery has a bit of all sorts extra in it, for you as the customer to wanna buy.It is neat and very cleanEnough parking place outside the premisesI would defenitaly tell the public it is worth your while to go pop in and see for yourself.Oh and last but not least, their biltong, dry wors etc to nibble on is excellent

Why is a good wors so difficult to make? It's not just this place that is struggling with it, but so many meat markets. You have a good amount of fat in the wors (which is great especially for braaing), but your wors has no flavour to it, other than way too much salt and a strange sour smell and taste to it.Honestly, for approximately R120/kg, I was expecting a lot better. Not happy.

I had a very good experience in the shop today. The butcher knows his products and made well informed recommendations. I will certainly try the fillet on the bone on one of my next visits.

Showed up 2 minutes before closing and was shown away.My take away from previous experience.The meat is ok but I was disappointed with their rashers. They are very small and thin. Not great value for money.Biltong was nice but super salty chilly bites.

We stock up every 4 or so months on the delicious lamb, beef etc. Worth the 100 kilometer round trip! Superior quality by far to any of our local stores!

I bought beef stew at the store two weeks ago. It was worse than soup bones. All off cut bone pieces.Hardly any meat and very odd pieces. Tasted like cleaning agent.

The butcher whom I met at Cavinia Vleis this past Saturday afternoon, came out from behind the counter as he could sense I was perplexed as to all the variety of meats and asked if he could be of assistance. (I was purchasing meat for a Drainmen Services braai that afternoon) He listened to exactly what I wanted and immidiatley said that he could prepare a fresh parcel for me as to my requst and that it would only take 10min. He also asked me whether we were going to enjoy the meat that day OR keep for a future date, all credible questions as to understand how to preserve and pack the meat if necessary. He promptly appeared with my meat parcel 10min later as promised, vacuum packed and fresh, and gave me excellent, curteous service ! I thank him for this.At the check out, there was a friendly lady who's smile lightend up this Wintery day in Strand and was so pleasant - it really made an impression. Well done everyone there who made my day and took the time out to personally ensure that I was taken care of. I must say this happened on a Saturday and when the store was bustling. My experience has been generally when a store is so busy you merely become a number and not a customer of value - but this was not the case at 'Calvina Vleis'. Please management, continue to train and compliment your staff on customer service - it will always be appreciated by customers, like me. Well done for the excellent service on such a particular busy day and I will be back in future !
