Pools by Design

We could write a book on the appalling experience we've had with this company. Engaging their so called 'service' has proven to be a very expensive waste of time and money. Certainly wouldn't recommend them to anyone!

We recently approached Pools by Design to build our pool. Having the concept design really helped us picture how the pool would look which made a huge difference. The guys have been great to deal with throughout the whole process and we can't wait to use our pool this summer!

Very disappointing experience. Mostly related to poor management by the Director Antony. Looking at the other feedback below, he will probably do the same thing and try and discredit the review. They have some great staff working for them just a pitty about how disorganised it is from the top.Follow Up: Their response was too little too late and just for show and full of you know what. Don't think anything they say is in the interest of the customer in this experience. Stay clear!!!!!

I engaged Pools by Design to build our concrete pool in the hills area in 2014. The pool design was out of the ordinary as our site was steeply sloping away and difficult to access. The contemporary infinity edge structure had to be built out of the ground like a huge bathtub. Many aspects of the pool build process required problem solving, creative thinking, tolerance of my own vision, and initiative from the foreman. The pool was to be built in tandem with very large-scale retaining walls and complete landscape reconstruction. Pools by Design were happy to co-operate with this process, and to keep up with our schedules on site to make sure the job got done in time. We had a great experience and have a magnificent pool.

My experience with Pools by Design started out very well, Antony and his wife were lovely to deal with, and discuss my plans for our pool. However, after receiving a single email saying he expected the quote to be complete by the end of the week (that was 3 or 4 weeks ago), I have had no further contact. They don't answer the phone or call back when left messages, they haven't responded to emails or enquiries through the website. If they are this hard to contact when I'm just trying to get the design done, how much of a nightmare will they be during a build?

18 months later and still unable to use our pool. No responses to emails or telephone calls. I guess small claims court is the only resolution for us.

We engaged this company via our builder to build a very simple, straight forward pool in December 2015, and since paying their $2000+ deposit, in January 2016, after a numerous false promises, various start dates that never eventuated we terminated the contract with them due to the atrocious attitude that we experienced from the Owner Antony Holling; who consistently refused to accept any responsibility for doing absolutely nothing over a 4 month period. Our experience is, that not one of the services outlined in their 'company profile' was delivered. Would not wish this experience on anyone, I would avoid this company at all costs.

We have been working with the team at Pools by Design for the last 12-18 months, and have found their work to be of an exceptional standard.It is a pleasure to deal with the team at Pools by Design (Antony, Shonagh, Cherie and Richard), they are always friendly and helpful, and we would thoroughly recommended them to anyone that needs a pool and / or landscaping project done.

We had a very poor experience with Pools by Design.Our house was built by Giorgi (Who was excellent) in 2016 and won the HIA Award for best custom built home the same year.We contracted out the Pool separately to Pools By Design and suffered the following:1. The Solar Heating continues to become detached from the roof, with Pools by Design promising to address the issue, however after many months of promises, they have not addressed the issue. Eventually, we paid an external contractor to resolve the problem.2. The water witch has not worked successfully from the installation date and despite multiple (unreturned) phone calls, Pools by Design did not address the issue.I eventually spoke with the owner, who promised to resolve the above, but no action was taken and the receptionist replied with alleged defects on the solar system with but it certainly wasn’t Antony" ."
