Urban Zulu Hair Sandton

All I'm saying is, if you're in and about Sandton & desperate to do your hair - this is the last place I'd consider. Urban Zulu is literally unprofessional to the core. I sent them Whatsapp messages before I came through just to ensure that they'd be able to style me the way I wanted. Oh wait - hang on, I even sent pictures to show them the volume & length of my hair beforehand so they can confirm accordingly, which they did.Needless to say I was quoted and my appointment confirmed, only to come in to be told that the service I wanted couldn't be done on locs as long as mine.Disappointed and furious would be an understatement to how I left the salon feeling. To top it off, the hair stylist only told me this after having washed my hair! So yes, I left the salon with wet hair.Honestly such a shame for the potential I thought they have. I definitely will not be coming back here or recommending this place to anyone else!...Save yourself money & heartbreak, and go somewhere where they value customer service.

If you want to keep your natural hair healthy, nicely textured and beautiful get a booking at Urban Zulu hair salon cause trust me when you get your hair done you'll feel amazing.

Went for the first on 26 March for dreads treatment and styling, and im sold! Will be seeing them more often

My little sister used booksy to book for a Knotless Goddess/Boho Braids (Waist), which costs R1400. When she arrived at the appointment, the hair stylist (Ruth Muglit) did box braids instead and she did not even add the goddess locs to the box braids. So she ended up doing normal box braids and was charged as if she was doing the knotless goddess braids - which is and additional R400. She is not an outspoken person, and wants to avoid conflict at all cost so she would not have spoken out in the moment.I think that as a business it is important to look at what your customer has booked and provide them with the correct service. Because of this mistake we had to go to another hair salon to insert the goddess strands of hair. And keep in mind that this was for her matric dance.

The owner and stylists were very accommodating and friendly. I felt no pain in the no heat

With an online booking, I had my hair washed, retwisted and styled. I waited for over half an hour before the stylist started with me and once I was finally in the chair, the space wasn’t clean at all - with cockroaches crawling at the station. Once we begun, I explained to the stylist that I needed my hair crotched, she told me I couldn’t because the only 2 stylists that crotchet were unavailable. My hair was done yesterday but looks as though it was done a few weeks ago. I’m very disappointed with the service and quality I received. It was a waste of my money honestly

Good service but i had to wait 30+ minutes both times I've been there despite having an appointment. Not all the staff wear masks. The pricing is on the higher end compared to other places I've been.

I just love it here, the staff friendliness is on another level. Always happy to visit the salon
