Bundox Safari Lodge

I stayed at Bundox Safari Lodge over Christmas and my stay was perfect in every way! Tanya, the resort manager is amazing, she was there to greet me, showed me around and then over the next few days brought a glass of wine at just the right time as well as booking additional activities I wanted and checking to see my stay was going well.My ‘tent’ was wonderful, a large canvas room with en-suite outdoor bath & shower. All decorated in a rustic way that was very in tune with the natural surroundings and perfectly finished.The whole resort is very in tune with nature and a wonderful place to be. To me, it’s as much about the feel and atmosphere as the facilities and here it was spot on. They’ve thought of everything and go out of their way to make their guests’ stay special.There are two swimming pools in the resort, perfect for a relaxing afternoon. The bar area is lovely and has wifi, the only place it’s available which I’m very on board with. Tanya explained they like people to switch off when they’re here as much as possible, and it worked really well in keeping me and the other guests relaxed during our stay, chatting with other lovely guests with the ability to catch up on urgent comms in between safari, dinner and relaxing!The restaurant is in a lovely setting with a fire pit and the food is incredible – dinner is 3 courses of delicious home made food, really inventive and beautifully presented. It’s hard to get the balance right with a set menu and they’ve achieved it here. The staff couldn’t be lovelier, always friendly, welcoming and helpful. They genuinely care how your day has been and if you’ve enjoyed your meal.Staying here was like a big relaxing hug from the minute I arrived to the minute I left. It far surpassed my expectations and really made my holiday. I didn’t have to worry about anything, it was all taken care of, I love that! I was already recommending it to family & friends while I was still there.Highly, highly recommend, with my thanks to the amazing staff for everything they did for me. This holiday is something that will stay close to my heart forever.

The accommodation (Rhino Chalet), although very spacious and well-kept had a few issues with septic tanks and leaky basins. but once reported, were attended to timeously although the stench from the septic tanks/outdoor bath drain still remained. The lodge set-up is great, requiring long scenic walks to breakfast and dinner everyday which amplify the bush experience. The staff are very attentive and always willing to assist where need be and we particularly enjoyed the private game drive hosted by Mxolisi (Siya). The breakfasts were very good and had everything you may want, however, the dinner's were disappointing. You are served a 3-course meal each night made up of incredibly basic items such as meat and 2 veg and miniscule desserts. The set-up of the dining area included tables less than a meter apart from one another, at times providing an awkward atmosphere amongst guests due to the communal feeling. Bundox also offer additional extras, such as private dining for just under R300 a person which just meant eating away from the rest of the guests and included a bottle of champagne. This was hardly worth the R580 per couple. Ultimately a tad overpriced for a 3 star lodge (even though dinners are included). But with a few tweaks here and there, my experience would have increased tenfold.

We stayed for 3 nights and loved every moment! There’s 4 lovely staff that take care of everything, super welcoming, have never experienced this level of family-vibe hospitality before. They make sure everything is very special with sunset and sunrise stops, surprises and amazing food. We left feeling 3 kilos heavier because everything just tasted so nice. The tents are also very nice and cosy (with a fan, light, little bathroom, electricity). During the day you can chill by the pool with an amazing view over the park, sometimes even spotting the occasional elephant or impala. All in all: if you have the chance, go!

Wonderful experience! We started our honeymoon in South Africa before heading off to Botswana. The Bundox Lodge was a great start to the trip. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We had great interactions with the management, guides, and kitchen staff - felt like one big family. The food was also excellent! Our room was very nice, and included a large outdoor tub which was nice for relaxing in the evenings. Also a big shoutout to the Intrepid team and their drivers and guides - Bogani and Harrison! Had a blast.

The location of the camp is in the tranquility of nature. Unspoiled natural setting, moreover, they are concerned about nature conservation and green tourism practices. Their facilities are very clean. The staff is very friendly, welcoming and goes an extra mile to ensure that the guest are comfortable. The level of respect between the manager and her staff is amazing they make a great team". They have the best chef

Awesome safari escape! Bundox safari lodge had excellent hospitality from the moment we arrived till the last day. Great meals, lovely clean tents with a true escape from the outside world AKA no reception at the tents. We truly enjoyed our stay and the highlight was the spa!!! Keep up the excellent service we loved it.

If you want to have a good time with awesome African food (props to the kitchen), nice accommodation and exciting safari rides this is the place to go to. Don't look further and book this absolutely lovely place.

Wonderful place! Thanks to all staff and especially Tanja our stay in Bundox was really great. Tanja helped us actually with everything: tours, transfer, special requests. The kitchen staff as well was very nice and helpful. And all the dinners were delicious.Bundox lodge is a unique place, you have real nature around you! Highly recommended!

Tanja and her staff provided the most wonderful and attentive service we have ever experienced. The food was really delicious, and even with loadshedding the staff provided a romantic atmosphere. The love to detail in each and every aspect, including decoration of the premise and tents was just beautiful. Extraordinary SPA treatments and adult pool area were very relaxing options to choose. This is a spot worth visiting! Luxury safari tents, fitted with everything you could need - clean and comfy. Staff are excellent and look after you like family. Only complaints were that food was too good, so we ate too much and Xolisi (the game ranger), couldn't guarantee Leopard sightings. Awesome spot!
