Penguin Pools

I requested a site visit with Bertie prior to engaging with Penquin and had confirmation that digging the pool and moving ground to the front will not be a problem as my house was brand new and should not cause any damage. Needless to say they started breaking ground and just kept on piling sand and rocks damaging walls and garden. There is no project management to speak of and no planning or communication throughout the whole process. Plenty of excuses all the time and no proper handover was done and now not prepared to cover the costs for damage caused. Stay clear of this company!

This was one of my poorest experiences I ever had with any company. The craftmanship is close to the worst I have ever seen, the customer services is no-excisting, absolutely no after-sale service. After the final payment was done, the sales lady told me they will come and hand over the pool, list all the deffects and repair it to my satisfaction. We made a date and she did not even bother to pitch or call for a new appointment. The excistence of this company is a joke and I am most certainly not leaving the matter here. I am in consultation with people to direct me to authotities who can assist me in solving my querries and make sure no-one else will ever receive such bad treatment.

Here is some sound advice: Stay far away from this company. I bought a Penguin pool in 2007, and it is the worst product I've ever spent money on. Installation started in Aug 2007, and was finally completed in July 2008 after a nightmare of poor service and utterly shoddy workmanship. You won't believe it, but the pool had to be removed and returned to the factory for repair before it was even used. You will find Penguin Pools excelling at evading responsibility. Now, around 10 years later the fibreglass has severely cracked, and the pool is leaking like a sieve. I'm going to have to replace the whole pool. I give the supplier 0 out of 10,considering product quality and installation against price.

Definitely one of the worst companies I have had to deal with. I requested a quotation for a pool as I thought they were the best in the industry as they are such a well-known company. I have waited over a month with no quotation from them despite me following up multiple times. They keep promising they will send a quotation but to date I havnt received anything. They were my first choice but if they can't even send out a quotation I don't even want to think about what happens afterwards. I will be looking for other reputable companies who actually would like to do business.

A real industrial environment

Terrible company, delay the client until the warantee period is over and then flat ignore you. Never dealt with a company so hell bent on just wanting to make a quick buck, the pool leaked, wrong chlorinator was installed, paving cracked after 2 months and the whole time they were stone walling me. Really think twice before buying from these sharks.

Not interested to hear of poor quality or to assist with repairs on a pool THEY fibreglassed - its poor, lining presents bubbles, and two holes... Told us on the phone they were liquidated, no records so they can't help! When I visited them they said who told us that they were liquidated? Here we are

I thought that I’ll give Penguin Pools a chance and ordered my Fibreglass Pool. I finished with installing it I’m May of this year. Could not wait for the summer to arrive and then about 3weeks ago I noticed a small crack in the pools step. I contacted Jesta at the company in Pretoria and informed her about it. All they did is ask for pictures then mailed me and said that they will not fix the small crack because due to ground movement. I told her that it’s half above the ground and it’s got a good foundation so it’s not that. I then mailed her again asking if they will be coming out to look at the pool. I received a mail again from them explaining the following:Warranty Fibreglass shellWe supply a patch kit that is available at the factory.The client should not drain a pool within 6 months after installation and we can not take responsiblility for damages caused due to draining the pool.Damages caused due to faulty installation is not part of the warranty.The pool is new and with water restrictions we not allowed to drain pools or fill pools in our complex.PLEASE DO NOT USE PENGUIN POOLS AND TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. IF ONLY I LISTENED TO ALL THE OTHERS!

Easily the worst company to do business with. We've had so many issues with the build and warranty claims are just not being dealt with. I wish I had spent a bit more money and rather used a reputable brand. Since the business was passed down to the son, it has seriously deteriorated. Stay well clear of Penguin Pools.

We have been waiting for more 2 months now on Mark Ekron to install one of our clients Chlorinator. To date Mark Ekron has not installed the said and is not taking our phone calls. Be careful and think twice before you make use of Penguin pools - Especially Mark Ekron operating in the Western Cape area. They are unprofessional and full of empty promises.
