Great place to chill. R31 admission fee for South African adults. Beautiful scenery and great hiking trail. If you going for a swim be careful of the Rocky bottom and bring inflatables... Big ones. Braai areas were closed both times we were there (over festive season 2018/9).

Fabulous boardwalk and path all the way around the dam is wheelchair friendly and easy for those with mobility challenges. All the way around there are little stoney nooks for private picnics and braai spots so that visitors are never far away from other groups yet not over close. Plenty of parking. The fynbos plants always have something interesting to see. You can swim in the dam water too. I had such a happy visit there.

Well designed braai -spaces and a lot of vegetation makes it feel not too crowded even at capacity. Highly recommendedPlease note: No Card or electronic Payment Accepted!!(FFS SanParks, please join this century already!!! )(Wildcards and permits accepted)

Situated in the Silvermine Nature Reserve - you need to pay an entrance fee or use your Wild Card membership. Beautiful surroundings with a planked walkaway around the dam and some awesome picnic spots. No dogs allowed on the one section of the dam. Great for swimming especially after a long hike.

Silvermine hiking trails are really beautiful but the noordhoek trail is not very clearly marked especially if you are hiking off the road track

Breathtaking escape from the city - this little corner of the earth is sure to take away all your problems. A few hiking trails provide the option of leisurely walks around the dam with amazing views. The reserve is really well maintained and the dam itself is a great place to chill off if you're needing to cool off on a hot day. Definitely on my list of favourite places under the sun
