Du Toitskloof Pass

I drove to this pass to take in the sweeping scenes and I wasn't disappointed. The roads are well maintained and there are numerous rest stops to safely pull over to take in the sights. Well worth the effort to see this!

Absolutely breathtaking beautiful everytime we travel this pass. Can't get enough of these magestic mountains.

Awesome area of the WC, and plse stop off for a quick walk on the Kromrivier or Elànd rivier hiking trails, stunning views indeed

I drove this pass today just for sight seeing. This was the first time in 35 years since I drove it with my dad who passed since. We stopped next to the road for a picnic. The road surface is very good, the views of the mountains are just majestic. Lots and lots of pull over spaces in both directions to stop and enjoy the views. From the lookout points you can see all the way to table mountain and lions head on a clear day like today. Great view of paarl and wellington valley

On a previous review I wrote about how beautiful the pass was, the frequent dual lane sections where you can overtake slow trucks and the lookout points which are perfect for photo opportunities. This time around (March 2020) we decided to take the pass again as there had just been a large fire and we wanted to see the affects on the pass. On Cape Town's side the fire did quite a bit of damage to the surrounding vegetation, but the other side of the mountain was less damaged. Overall the pass hasn't lost any of its beauty and after the winter rain it should be spectacular to see how new life is blossoming. Overall, if you have the time and want to take the road less traveled, I highly recommend you take the pass - you won't be disappointed.

This pass is some of the most beautiful that you will see. If possible, drive over the pass and skip the tunnel - it is stunning

It's the most amazing few ever. Have to take a drive over the pass so soulful.

It is a very beautiful pass. I recommend using the pass than the tunnel. The road is in good nick, there is multiple passing lanes to get past the slow trucks. The view points are beautiful and Table Mountain can be seen on a good day!
