My 75 year old mother, who suffers dementia and was undergoing cancer treatment, lives in a complex and received a huge bill from eThekwini for water (over R100,000). She couldn't pay (obviously) so they cut her electricity off. Her children then got involved at this stage, previously unaware of the situation, and on investigation it was found that there was a leak, which had subsequently been repaired by the municipality. They suggested a claim be lodged. This was done. Westwood then came back saying it was over three months since the loss so they refused to pay.First, municipalities do estimates for a few months, so easy to miss the three month cut off.Second, you're dealing with an old lady in ill health who only realised something was wrong when her electricity got cut off. This was months after the repairs.Now my mother has needed to move into a frail care home but can't sell her place because they can't get a municipal clearance certificate.A truly poor display from Westwood. They'll gladly take premiums from citizens for water loss but then find every reason not to pay.

Worst experience ever with an insurance company. My vehicle was damaged by the insured party. My vehicle was stationed in a designated parking area. The insured party reversed into the backside of my vehicle. I lodged an 3rd party claim as I was zero percent negligent. After two months nothing has been forthcoming except for delaying tactics by the company. An assessor was appointed which made an assesment accurate to the qoutations provided. Thereafter the company appointed an 2nd assesor which assesment report did not even cover 50% of my damages.The company came with many delaying tactics to such an extent that i claimed from my own insurance and I was prejudiced due to the negligent driving of their client.I dont believe that if I was their own client that I would have received any better treatment as surely it can be considered in their clients best interest to assist a third party who's vehicle their own client damaged.As stated earlier worst experience ever with an insurance company. If I could i would give them a -5 rating as they do not deserve any better.

If i had it my way i wil not even give Westwood insurance brokers a one star! They are pathetic and rootless guys do not get use Westwood insurance brokers they are a rip iff and they have no humanity what so ever!

These guys are pathetic. Took five months to sort a simple application. I had to visit them personally on two occasions and called them on more than 20 occasions. They have very poor response time and staff have an attitude. They are full.of excuses
