Die Oog
A fantastic place to relax in nature in the middle of a tranquil suburban area. This spot is magic for children as well where they may explore nature all in a safe environment.

A stunning slice of nature in Bergvliet. There are 4 benches scattered around the spring, perfect for sitting peacefully, observing nature and indigenous wildlife and even pick nicking. Many bird species, terrapins, snakes, frogs and much more.

Been coming here for as long as I could remember, absolute gem. Now that I live close by to Die Oog, I'm visiting at least 6 days a week.

Hidden gem in Bergvliet. Loved the peace and tranquility. Lots of Egyptian geese wandering or sitting within reach. Loads of other birds to see both nesting and swimming in the little lake. Nice for a short visit

Let's start with the obvious: You won't find this lovely little park by accident as it is well and truly hidden away.In fact, most of the people who visit this park walk here as they live close by - very few drive here. And driving here isn't a great idea because there is not much parking anyway. The park has an electric gate that you have to buzz to gain access and while it's free to visit, there is a QR code if you'd like to make a donation. You can sit and enjoy the birds in the pond or have a walk around but don't plan for a hike as it's a very tiny park. The pathway is clearly marked and ideal for wheelchair users. There's no bathroom on site, but there's a cute viewing area.

My dad used to bring my siblings and I to Die Oog when we were young. It's very dear to my heart and I'm so happy this conservation area is being preserved once more. There are ample places to sit - both in the sun and in the shade. It's safe to walk to or park your car nearby. People (families in particular) often have picnics there. Die Oog is open from 08:00-18:00 daily, so you can spend ample time there.Sadly, dogs aren't allowed, but Die Oog is a great place for quiet reflection and being close to nature. The birds go about their business, just remember not to feed them :-PIt's also easy to make donations to Die Oog through their Snapscan code. You can find more information on the community board located inside the premises.Die Oog is a great escape from the big crowds and urban traffic :-DDD

Die Oog
A small enclosed park with a dam, that is well hidden and maintained. There are few benches and one table. Perfect for a mini lockdown birthday party or just a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle. Visitors are not allowed to feed the bird life, however it seems that one little guy has gotten away with it a few times, he just came too close.
