Tsitsikamma Sunrise

This campsite is one of our favorites during our 3 month trip across South Africa. The site is beautifully landscaped with a green lawn and some large and small trees, flowering plants and a pond where four friendly white ducks live. The showers and toilets are very neat and inviting. You can do very nice hikes, the sea with its beautiful, wild beach is not far away either. There is a farm stall just across the road with a cute little cafe where you can have breakfast or order small dishes. There you can also buy the most important groceries such as vegetables, cheese, sausage, bread and cakes, most of which are self-produced on the farm. The campsite has a wonderfully calm atmosphere. But the best thing is the people who work and live there. Dennis the owner is one of the warmest, funniest and most helpful people we have encountered. We felt very welcome and at home. If we weren't close to the end of our journey (and our South Africa visa) we would still be standing there today. We can absolutely recommend this place and will stay longer than two nights next time. You can definitely spend a week here and relax. Thank you for your hospitality!

Our group of friends stayed here after returning from hiking the TsiTsikamma route in January 2022. The owner was very helpful and willing to accommodate us at the last minute. The camp site is clean, neat and peaceful. There are amenities to suit all needs, e.g. laundry, kitchen, etc. and even a family bathroom! We could not complain about a single thing! Would definitely recommend!

Facilities are very nice & clean BUT there is no potable water, so you must buy & supply your own. Also no soap or towels/hand drying facility in the toilets … and … wait for it … no toilet paper was provided in the toilets. You must provide all of this yourself. The on site hosts are pleasant enough friendly people but the lack of warning about no potable water, loo roll & soap provided is not acceptable - especially at the nightly price.

Super helpfull, super friendly, very neat and tidy campsite with great facilities.Only bummer is water not suitable for human consumption, so remember to bring plenty to drink.Can buy water very cheaply at the venue too.

We intended staying for one night only and soon extended our stay.. A well kept park in an amazing setting in a beautiful part of the Western Cape. The ablution block is well designed and immaculately clean. The owner and staff helpful and friendly. Nothing too much trouble. Camp is close to a quiet tar road and a farm stall serving tasty meals, home made bread on a dairy farm and nursery. Also small pet friendly

Amazing stay over December for 2nights. Friendly people. Quiet and safe camping. Ablution facilities are kept in an amazing state. We really enjoyed it and cannot wait to return to the Gardne Route to spend a few more nights here.

I've never stayed here but I always use the laundry service when I'm camping in the area. On my last trip I got my laundry back and much of it was still damp and in a sealed plastic bag so it had a bit of a smell.

What a quaint little caravan park! Every time I visit, the grass seems more lush, and the scenery more beautiful. If you're looking for a little bit of rustic peace away from the rat race, Tsitsikamma Sunrise is the place to be.
