This is a must-see place for Cape Town visitors. It is a nice and elegant place. The parking lot is small, so you can use it next to the entrance road of the theater, but it is safe.

You can't take a glass of wine into the theatre. Only a plastic one. How are you supposed to taste the expensive wine in a plastic cup? The price of the wine should then be reduced. The airconditioning in the back rows of the theatre is non existent. The ceiling is low and the lights are warm. I had to take my coat off a few times. ... This would have improved my experience a lot more.

It was 31st December, New, Year's Eve. I attended a comedy show by Alfred Adriaan in the Baxter Theatre. It was absolutely fantabulous. The place was buzzing and the vibe tremendous. The show itself was enjoyable.

An elegant and well maintained theatre in Cape Town. When we visited, there was an eclectic mixture of age and social standing, all enjoying an evening out and a great night's entertaining. A must do if visiting Cape Town.

A national treasure and still one of the best places to experience lhe theatre. They have upped their game in the restaurant and bar...a touch pricey but very classy. We were there recently when there were 2 events at the same time...slick and professional.Staff are very attentive and professional and knowledgeable.Parking is not the best and it's advisable to come early to get the better/closer parking.

Recently saw Aunty Merle: Things get real ( Musical Comedy) What an amazing production! Was lucky enough to get a finale ticket before it was sold out. A really heartwarming story and excellent performance by Marc Lottering who plays the well known character: Aunty Merle, who is trying to navigate her way through a post-Covid reality in South Africa. Hilariously funny at times, Marc and the outstanding cast manages to dazzle the audience whilst also shedding light on real topical issues of the day. Sincere, funny and heartfelt. Wonderful story-telling with an SA twist. The Baxter never disappoints

It was my first exposure to opera at the Baxter Theatre.I was concerned that I would find it boring after the novelty wore off. But I thoroughly enjoyed the performances of various opera singers who were given exposure by the Italian embassy to perform selected pieces of various operas. The theatre was neat clean and presentable. With a coffee shop on site.
