While at breakfast last Sunday our Joburg friends messaged to say they are in the Cape and driving through for a lunch visit. We scrambled to find something perfect for our visitors and were fabulously impressed. Deux Lions describe themselves as Barefoot Luxury"

What a fabulous experience. Great venue in the beautiful garden and the food was so real, tasty, unpretentious, well presented and well balanced. My friend and I shared 5 small plates and it was more than enough food. The wine is reasonable and the overall experience was delightful. I would highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Elegant dining!Nothing hurried in a beautiful setting with welcoming staff. The menu is not elaborate but the flavors, once you’ve chosen sure are. Well done DL!

Sublime!!!! A gorgeous setting with friendly, efficient staff and incredible food. An excellent setting for a long lazy lunch!! The menu is small but perfect. There are enough options to suit all tastes. We love Deux Lions!

We came for a wine tasting and nibbles. When we arrived we were told they were fully booked for all tables outdoors. We went for a walk around the state and 80% of the tables were empty. We stayed for 1 hour and no one really came for the empty tables. They need better table management. Wine and food are really tasty. Tapas and main courses. Id recommend but make sure you get a booking otherwise you will be sitting at the back of the restaurant.

We are staying at the Farm Cottage close to Deux Lions and decided to go there for lunch. Incredible walk through the wineries.Arriving at the beautifully decorated garden we enjoyed a lunch with impeccable service by our waiter Professor. The wines and food are outstanding. Would highly recommend to anyone.Especially loved the duck pate, lamb and pork belly.

Delicious meal and exceptionally kind team! We had a great dinner at this relatively newly opened restaurant and loved it. There is also a nice garden in the back to stroll around before dinner!

Deux Lions was recommended by our host at Ludus Magnus, and it was absolutely delightful. The menu, although not wide ranging, has amazing choices. The food was beautifully prepared and delicious. Our waiter, Thomas, treated us to some great wine pairings- the Deux Lions Red Blend, and the excellent Catherine Cabernet Sauvignon.. and with our dessert the delectable Keermont Fleurfontein. All wines were served by the glass- allowing us to be flexible with our choices. Highly recommended if you are looking for a great restaurant in Franschhoek! I did not try the other white wines brought to our table, but our party were pleased with their Deux Lions Chardonnay and Two Dogs, a Horse and a Peacock Sauvignon Blanc!

I had such a great experience in this restaurant. The food was delicious! We received great service from the whole team, and especially Evered Blankenberg made our night with his knowledge on wines and the history of the Franschoek area. My boyfriend and I will definitely be back!

Charming property, beautiful oak trees, stellar sommelier André, the best brioche and an adventurous selection of wines in our tasting. Intimate, boutique feel. Recommended!
