The Electricity connection fees here in Ethekwini is R15000. They evaluated my property and they said my property is bigger than 40m2. Im thinking of just depositing 10kwh Solar Sytem from the Chinese and never ever have hear about The Bills from Ethekwini.

Recently in the rates, water and electricity department, most of the staff have been much more helpful and friendly than in the past! In the past it seemed as though consultants were unwilling to assist and avoiding work. Now they seem more motivated to work. Well done guys!!! Keep up the good work!!!On the car licencing side, the guy at inquiries was energetic and helpful! But those who do processing of renewal go on as if they doing You a favour when it's actually a job they are being paid for! They help with what they forced to and not willing to assist with an inquiry even if they are free while inquiries counter has a que! One was busy eating while the other was on her phone leaving all the customers in the que to be assisted by one person who is designated to assist with inquiries.Although they not assigned to do inquiries, If they can process a renewal, I'm sure their system can check the outstanding amount owing on a license without processing it! But they refused to assist even when free!

Please change the working hours on the page because it's written the closing time on Saturday is11:30 and when I got there at 11:00 it was already closed.
