I love that this wonderful Portuguese family bought this place like 35 years ago from another family that had it for like 40. So its always busy. Always fresh. Portions to die for. So affordable. Love this place. I'm a regular

Tasty just cooked fabulous fresh fish..... wrapped authentically. Large servings Good value. I'm so pleased to have found them. Great service from really good people. Generous and caring of those less fortunate. Noted the kindness shown. I'm going to be a regular, because I enjoy good food, am very, very happy to pay such reasonable prices and really want to support such a great owner and staff.

Food is always delicious here but they should not claim they deliver if they stop delivering lunchtime. If they close at 7pm don't they think delivery until say 18:30 would make sense? I live 160m away and in lots of pain, and do not want to face the strong winds just to soothe my appetite. I got all excited when I saw their misrepresentation that they deliver.

Very dissapointing.Chips was still undercooked. Got the smallest piece of grilled snoek that was pap and tasteless.Tartar sauce is watered down. No lemon with calamari.No salt and vinegar even though we asked.Won't see me again.

Altona is an institution in Woodstock. It is clean and the staff is helpful. The menu is vast and ranges from traditional cape town style fish and chips to healthy grilled options. They also offer Gatsby's with different toppings.They offer sharing style seating inside and it is not uncommon to strike up a conversation with a stranger.Definitely recommend the Altona.

Big portions, crispy batter and chips so slap it's not gonna slap back. Family run for as long as I know. Authentic fish and chips.. if you are passing by or live in Woodstock, give it a go!
