Mooihoek BERRY BARN Wedding Venue

From the moment we came driving through the strawberry fields, up the valley, and I saw this beautiful venue, I was transported to another world. A little bit of Tuscan feeling crawled up my spine. The stunning foyer and the beautiful elegant dining hall opened up through the massive doors. Clean lines and luxury, good cutlery and elegant glasses. Beautiful little private corners and instagram moments. Soft drapes and then I saw the mountainside. Where else would you have a special Mountainside carved out as bacdrop for a dance floor and terasse. Nature has made the most beautiful lines into the red mountainside..with sunlight etching each curvy line.A fountain.... Romantic lights and accommodation in luxury units. Plump beds and duvets, white and fresh against cool, smooth walls. Summer heat only visible through the historic windows framed wth a view of wild flowers dancing in the mountain breeze.I was accompanied by the owner Madelè. Succesful bussines woman, wife and mom and also someone who knows the art of hospitality to the dime. We had lunch outside on the patio and enjoyed a perfect meal. This venue is on a working farm. I loved watching the colourful clothing of the women, working and picking on the strawberry fields, bobbing up and down the rows of fruit. The tractors traversing the valley roads and a donkey cart taking its owners back home after shopping in town. I went away from this place with a feeling of wholesomeness and love and beauty and perfection.. And realised it was not a Tuscan feeling. It was a vibe of the Boland in Patensie valley and echt South African hospitality and thoughtful planning and guts. Thank you for a beautiful day Madelè and staff.

Most delicious quiche and the salad was so crispy fresh and tasty.

Food VERY good hospitality unfriendly. Don't expect your all your food to arrive at the same time. When questioning the waiter she said it was 2 different kitchens and avoided us the whole time and actually had an attitude when cleaning up.

My daughters wedding ewwas this past Saturday. I have nothing negative to mention about this beautiful establishment. Professional and friendly in every way. I highly recomend them for your activity.

Great experience picking your own strawberries. Restaurant has a wonderful open setup and the food is really delicious. Service is really slow as in snails are faster, so be patient as the food is worth it.

The Berry Barn is such a beautifull place with delicious food and friendly staff. We can't wait to come and have another berry bubble waffle at the end of the year :)
