Sea Point Civic Centre
Well run civic event in a well prepared and managed hall with adequate parking. Covid19 protocols were under staffed and this delayed the start a bit. I really suggest citizens attend these meetings where the Mayor of Cape Town addressed a number of tough issues with some very promising solutions. He also stressed rule of law over land and building invasions as a no go area. Open and courageous.

A once very nice building and venue, now a run down delapadated version of its former self. Weeds growing out of the paving and drains. Pest control traps laying open at the entrance. Trash laying everywhere. The backstage areas stink of urine from vagrants who sleep there at night. Blocked toilets in the change rooms where you D girls are getting ready to dance. Absolutely disgusting how the City of Cape Town has let deteriorate like this.

Visited the gift market. Was hoping to find something different to the last exhibit but alas mostly the same. Beautiful array of merchandise without a doubt though.

There was a Christmas Craft Market at Sea Point Civic Centre. It was lovely. All COVID protocols in place.... we arrived at opening time so it was quite quiet. Lovely gift ideas! Loads of parking! Well-worth a visit!!

We are having one of the biggest Dance Competitions here at present and I am deeply disappointed that the Council expects the people hiring the place to lock up at 10pm in loadshedding with the vagrants on the property. It is beyond disgusting!

The venue and facilities are generally in good order, some wobbly pavers on the walkways that for my 80 year old mother-in-law almost caused a fall. Not sure if it is the venue, or the person that hires that dictates admission and concession prices... but both were very high.

Both halls, toilets and foyer a year or two renovated to a high standard. The kitchen unfortunately not. Lots of parking. Lots of staff... doing WHAT? During Covid pandemic the staff is withdrawn from the venue during an event, and one has to make own arrangements for cleaning of the place, especially the toilets.
