As conveyancing attorneys I found the team to be unsupportive on certain queries. I was the buyer of a property and the sellers appointed the attorneys. The estate agent promised an occupational certificate but this wasn’t mentioned in the agreement. When I enquired on this, there was strong defence from the team on this - and they have no contacts with the city of Johannesburg, so the final figures took very long. There was no support for the sellers once we realised the closing reading was a hugely incorrect estimate. Which left both parties with a struggle to resolve the City of Johannesburg’s final figures.
