Kranskloof hiking trail
Very good hiking trails covering some exciting climbing in and out of a river gorge. Abundance of plant life with good examples of how plants can grow anywhere. Must be medium fit as the gorge is steep to go down in and out again. Dog friendly for people that want to take their dogs on a big adventure. But there are plenty of people so dogs must not be aggressive with strangers. Definitely a great experience.

Great outing, stunning views, and diverse landscapes. The blue 8.6km trail is relatively technically at places but worth it.

KRANSKLOOF HIKING TRAILHallooo fellow hikers in this beautiful country of ours, South Africa. Many awesome hiking trails and nature reserves in our country, as well as thousands of people who also LOVE immersing themselves within our country's pockets of exquisite beauty, such as Magoebaskloof, the Wild Coast, Knysna Forest, Magaliesberg and also, of course, the KRANSKLOOF hiking trail.I must admit, I didn't expect it to be quite such a long and sometimes very challenging hiking trail, because I am not hiking fit" and needed to rest every now and then. Thank goodness the other hikers didn't mind drinking in the beauty around them for the 5/10 minutes it took me to catch my breath! Finally

Absolutely stunning hike. The lagoons and streams are full and flowing after all the summer rains and are crystal clear. So fun for the doggies as well, preferably take them along if they are experienced hikers

What a stunning trail! If you read and research properly, you will know exactly the level of difficulty to prepare for. This is not an easy amble- it’s a proper hike and is marketed as such. It’s quite technical at times when scaling rocks and boulders in the gorge, and easier on the flat terrain. My partner and I found the trail very well marked.. at no point did we lose the trail- you just need to keep your eyes open. I would not suggest that the elderly/unfit people attempt this hike, but for everyone else, who enjoys pristine trails and hours in a stunning gorge, this is for you! The lady who assisted us on arrival gave us all the info we needed…we can’t wait to go back!

Fantastic hiking trail. We have done the blue and yellow trail but much prefer the yellow trail. The gorge is pristine with clear pools for swimming. Both trails are well marked which is an added bonus

Great trail. A little above easy level of walking, but with reasonable fitness, its easily done. Trail is well marked. Great rock formations, and beautiful below the canopy walking in the Ysterhout Kloof. Nice pools in the kloof.
