First time sleeping in a lodge that only cleans your room after your stay. It's hot and obviously if you put left over food in the bin it will smell with the room closed up the whole day.The beds were uncomfortable, we literally slept on springs. They need to check out how other guest houses operate and improve.

Lovely cabins with comfy warm bedding. Some bathroom fixtures break and the toilet paper is limited, but the surrounding nature is lovely and the place is kept tidy. As a side note, the bathrooms in the cabins don’t have a ceiling so if you’re camping with friends, maybe ask them to go outside before you can do your business in private.

Bananien Lodge is about 5,6 km outside Sabie on the Hazyview road with the most tranquil surroundings with the ample bird life. Very affordable rates and lovely accommodation provided the the most helpful owners. We will most definitely go back in the near future. Very central from Sabie, Hazyview and Graskop. Thank you to the most friendly and most accommodating owners.

If you need a spot to recharge, look no further. This is it. Located centrally, close enough to every important landmark in the region to be able to go for a drive every day. Just be warned, little to no cellphone coverage, depending on which network you use. But on the other hand, who needs to be bothered by a cellphone when on vacation in the beautifull Mpumulanga province. Home away from home.

I have never before written a review on a place publicly but the service and attitude I received from your wife was just unacceptable. My mother and I were not made to feel welcome from the day we arrived. I could not understand the attitude. But I overlooked it each time there was something - I ignored it. But to wake up on the last day having that ugly note plastered on the door was the last straw - everything felt punitive. In the hospitality industry your job is to make people feel welcome at your place. Based on the interactions I saw other people got different treatment? I am not accusing you of racism I am stating what my experience was and what I observed. Also I did not book for Sunday I booked for Monday and I called in advance to say there were delays in flights and I was only able to come the Tuesday. Please don’t make as if I pitched up and made demands I was always clear. I honestly would have spent my money somewhere else because Bananien Lodge is definitely not worth the money and I there’s no ways I’m driving 400 kms just to get a free night. Makes no sense. Keep the money. I consider this matter closed. Good luck in your future endeavours.
