Placed an order for a half chicken which includes 2 sides. Cashier just rang it up and told me the price without asking what sides I wanted. Waited for ages. When I asked what was happening I was told to wait. Eventually I was told that it had been rung up as a sit down even though I specified take away. Asked for my money back and left. Kitchen seems unhygienic and disorganized, won’t ever be back.

Honestly very bad experience for both times I've purchased from Barcelos food smelled sour and tasted worse. I got x6 chicken wings and it was only bone and skin I was utterly disgusted and dissapointed at the service recieved.

Airport Approach Rd, Matroosfontein.We had to pick someone up at the airport but my husband got the flight times completely wrong. So we had time to kill and decided to have something to eat while waiting. We decided on Barcelos. It was the first time that we have eaten their food and it was quite lovely. The service was quick and the lady who assisted us was friendly and professional. The chicken looks a lot like Nando’s but it obviously does not taste the same. What is nice is that it is halal.

The food is great for a group of people and the seating area clean. this place is halal. The staff was very helpful and the prices are good. I do not suggest you take three beans salad as it may not be what you expect. The waiting time is not long.

The Bafana meal I ordered was a regret, it's meant to be a quarter chicken with pap, gravy and some relish, everything was cold and burnt, the pap gave me an upset stomach for hours before I flew back to Jhb. I couldn't even complain I felt weak, Even if they improve they can't be better. Should have looked for Nandos!! Worst meal ever!!!!

Honestly the worst chicken I've had in a while. Cold and dry. Topped with horrible service. For this restuarant to be at the airport is a disgrace to Cape town and peoples first impressions of our fast food chains in SA. Miss!

First time customer, tried their pap, tomato relish, 1/4 chicken and cabbage. Cabbage was great, I give 9/10. The chicken was okay, although not the freshest, I give it 5/10. The pap was a disaster, I couldn't eat it at all: cold,didn't get enough heat, not mixed properly. The tomato relish didn't taste like anything, just a lot of oil, no flavor.
