Achiever Swim School

My husband and I started adult stroke correction classes at this school about a month ago. Admittedly we were nervous and not the least bit confident in the pool. Within a month these fabulous, patient, encouraging ladies (Gina, Margaret, Lisa and Tammy) have gotten us gliding through the water with confidence. All the ladies are so warm and welcoming and encouraging - this really has made all the difference to attending these classes. And they celebrate every little achievement. We are so grateful to have found such an awesome swim school.

Absolutely great swimming lessons with Gina and Tammi. Both coaches are easy to follow and they’ve really helped build my water confidence in a few lessons! Highly recommend.

Going to this swimming school is stressful. I have a 2.5 year old and I found going to these classes more painful than exciting every week. There are a number of things:1. I don’t think you get treated very well. You get made to sit and wait on plastic chairs outside the pool area. The one day (I took screenshots of the time) our instructor was late to finish off the previous lesson. We came early on this session, but as you know making a two year old sit still who’s excited to swim is no easy task. When my son ran in on time, we were screamed at to go sit back down and wait until we were called. I thought it was in poor taste.2. Flowing from this, we decided to come late instead. I requested to have my time sit changed from being at 1.30pm as it interferes with my work activities and my sons routine at school (he’s irritable and naughty for classes as he doesn’t sleep). It was verbally agreed to in the pool. The next week I get told the slots not available anymore and if I don’t like the time I have I can go elsewhere and they will waiver the admin fee (thank goodness this happened, or I would have been penalised). Frustrating part is I had paid the day before when the invoice was sent. They made no mention before sending the invoice.3. The parking guard outside that always argues about parking. Every week it’s a different story with him. You will park where there is an open space from seeing cars parked there the week before, he will come and move your car. I’ve never affected anyone else where I park and I usually park where I’ve parked before.4. Part of the enrolment fee is they say they will give you a swimming cap. I never got one. I was told to buy one separately as they had run out of stock.I gave it a 2 simply because the pool is heated and undercover. There are honestly better options out there. Maybe it’s better for older kids, but a smaller kid- don’t waste your time.

I started Aqua Jogging with Lauren. I have never enjoyed an exercise class as much as this! Thankyou Lauren and Achiever Swim School!
