Kragga Kamma Veterinary Clinic
My husband, Wayne and I, are so happy and relieved to have found a Veterinary Clinic in Port Elizabeth, where we know our precious little Bichon Frisé, Amicus, can visit in good or bad health, and know she will be in good hands, from when she meets the receptionist, through to the veterinarian and even the lady dealing with the accounts.Personally, I especially appreciate that you acknowledge that we take the time to educate ourselves, and are grateful for addition veterinarian education, regarding Amicus's Diabetes Mellitus II. Personally, I appreciate that you don't think I'm 'weird' :-), clearing impacted anal glands, checking all stools and measuring Amicus' water consumption daily. We have moved back to Port Elizabeth, after being away for 10yrs, from KZN. We had peace of mind that in the area in which we lived, we had the expertise of Dr Anthony Zambelli at the Inanda Veterinary Hospital and the peace of mind of close proximity to Gillett’s Veterinary Hospital, as well as Westville Veterinary Hospital. We take our responsibility of an ‘animal children’ very seriously. Perhaps by reading below, you can understand:Sadly' we left Rhodes University, to move to KZN, with a Noah's Ark of 'animal children' 92 dogs, 2 cats, 2 parrots & returned from KZN having lost our 16yr old Yorkshire Terrier with Cushing’s Syndrome, Alzheimer’s/Senility /loss of sight/loss of hearing and eventually a very bad stroke, before euthanasing. The loss of our snow-white, blue-eyed, feral cat that adopted us 15yrs ago, and even with us having the knowledge of the dangers of the sun, kept him out of the sun as much as possible, always putting veterinary specified sun block on him, who still got skin cancer, over and above Diabetes Insipidus. After taking him for a follow-up visit with Anthony Zambelli at the Inanda Veterinary Hospital, we had to weigh up quality of life and pain, coming to the conclusion (with extreme sadness) that euthanasia was the most humane approach. A loss of one of free-roaming Timneh Grey, who, because our parrots aren't caged, obtained a small cut I didn't see, until he became ill. After a week's hospitalisation, the infection spread to his liver, causing necrosis of the liver and subsequent death. We lost our 11yr old Chinchilla cat to a fast growing, cancerous tumour, of the abdomen, which even specialist veterinarians missed. The above were never dogs, cats or parrots we lost, they were our children. So because of our losses, we are more vigilant of Amicus and our Bare-Eyed Cockatoo, Columbus, who so far has been well. So thank you for the peace of mind you give us that, Amicus’ medical care will always be in the best possible hands. I will also change the details on her Virbac Microchip, making your hospital the referring contact. For anyone else, I would gladly refer you to this veterinary clinic, for your ailing pet, knowing that it will be in thecaring and capable hands of the veterinarians at Kragga Kamma Veterinary Clinic.Merry Christmas to all at Kragga Kama Veterinary Clinic and their families, an best wishes for 2014.RegardsWayne Williams and Colleen Cradock-Williams.
