The Children's Communication Centre

I have a 16 year old daughter delayed in speech and hearing who started her journey at the children's Communication Centre and to see how far she's come along is absolutely amazing, all thanks to the centre team.I would definitely recommend the Centre.

An NPO and One of the best special needs schools in Johannesburg. My daughter suffers from Autism and Aprexia, she was not able to communicate as she cannot speak, it's been 2 years and she is now able to use actions and dual words. The OT and ST as well as teachers are well trained to cater for your child's individual needs.

Some places still needs renovations though to be considered as upto standard. Loved visiting the buildings and hope to keep having the opportunity to do so.

School to be avoided.We had several bad experiences at the school. Our child was always unhappy and would often cry about having to go to the Childrens Communication centre.We only realized just how severe the problem was once we took him out of the school and found that he was completely happy at another institution.We as parents were also disturbed by how passing conversations with the OT and ST always incurred a consultation cost. Even if it was for 10 minutes in a corridor.The teachers and caregivers were not experienced enough, and our child often went hungry, thirsty and would often come home with a crusty nose and complaints.There are far better schools who are more cost effective and have more effective and economical ST's and OT's.

My son has been at the school for less than a month and his speech has improved dramatically despite his chronic condition . The school is extremely efficient and every member is actively involved in his progress. My son has had two serious emergencies thus far due to his health and the school has been so amazing I cannot possibly express how happy we are with the school . Much love to the entire team
