Awesome destination. Holiday vines deluxe. Great beach and river entertainment. Lots of craft type shops to entertain you if that is your thing. Such a great escape.

A great little town. Quiet, scenic. Hence the name STILL Bay.People are generally respectful and it's great for family get togethers, fishing or a romantic getaway. If you like being rude or disrespectful this is not the place for you. Most Villagers also aren't big on over the top loud music after 10pm at night and the Accommodation Rules are usually similar.Lovely restaurants and scenic hiking.Stilbaai has Numerous Blue flag beaches. Great fishing deep sea charters, beach, river and dam fishing. Horse riding. Eel feeding and scuba diving, surfing and surf lessons.Visit The Stables for small children and occasional live band. The Premier is child and pet friendly and has phenomenal food. Right next to the Distillery which offers tours.Coffee and Cream is upmarket and child friendly.Try the milkshakes at the little shop, The Sip close to Spar are awesome.Pizza World has great fish platters.Allegaartjie is a great gift shop and intimate eatery.BnM restaurant is great for the day.Daves Kitchen is family friendly but make appointments.Hanlies Bistro is nice for an intimate evening meal. The Putstop has a great outdoor area and playground for children. The pies are nice too.During holidays and weekends it's best to reserve tables as some restaurants can get very busy. The town has a slow pace perfect for family or romantic holidays. Many restaurants and businesses still close early ie 4 to 6pm and some are closed on Sundays. There are numerous holiday accommodation options like guest housesincluding Caravan Parks in both Stilbaai and Jongensfontein closeby, but it gets booked up fast, so book at least 4 to 6 months in advance to avoid disappointment.Close to game farms and surrounding tourist events and day trips like Jongensfontein village Art and Bali in Riversdale or the Aloe shop in Albertinia.Daytrips to festivals and events in Mosselbay, George, Plettenberg Bay and Knysna are also doable. Most people speak Afrikaans, but everyone can converse well in English too.

Fantastic place. Fishing is okay, I think the mass fisheries have damaged the population. But it's extremely safe and quiet during off season.

Gypsy Journey _ new adventure  _ Stillbaai _ making memories _  one campsite at a time.Arrived in Stillbaai after a short trip from the Wilderness and decided to set up camp in Jongensfontein.  We were delighted to find a stand almost on the beach, which was an excellent base from which we could explore the surrounding areas.  The caravan park is very well kept and a joy to stay at.   Our first adventure was a visit to the Museum and feeding the eels, which turned out to be a fascinating experience.  These eels are called catadromous fish, as the adult eels migrate from freshwater into the sea where they spawn with the next generation migrating back to fresh water.  These eels have been living in Stillbaai for the past 125 years and migrate annually to Madagascar where they mate and spawn.  The adults apparently shortly thereafter.

On the Garden Route we decided to see what Stilbaai looks like. I was so surprised! It is a beautiful and tranquil place and worth a visit. With the lagoon and the mountains surrounding it. Beautiful! Next time we will sleep over.
