Had a great time, food was amazing, kids had a fantastic day, the child minder was fantastic with the kids which is a plus for parents trying to unwind.

June 2021. GREAT disappointment! Went there for a Birthday celebration. The actual menu differs from Google ads. They don't serve the Mussel pot as advertised. My dish, 12 prawns special was messy , small and tasteless. SHAME on you !! In our party , the hake with prawns and sauce was rubbery.However, service was good and restaurant clean and bright . Will be hesitant to try this restaurant and menu again ! Cannot recommend.

We are regular customers but tonight's meal and service were shocking. Despite going and looking for the staff and manager to ask where my husband's food was and to inform them about the vegetables that were unedible, no effort was made by the manager to come and speak to us. Instead she was laughing at the back with staff and chatting to Ster Kinekor staff. We handed our rewards card to our waiter to use as we will definitely not go back. Such a pity that there is no understanding that poor service drives customers away, especially when businesses need local support to survive.

We were pleasantly surprised by this John Dory's restaurant. It exceeded all our expectations in terms of the yummy food, the excellent and warm service and relaxed atmosphere. We had a platter and were quite surprised by the portion. The calamari tubes were by far some of the best calamari I've ever had. Our waitress was absolutely lovely, it's a pity we didn't get her name as we would love to give her kudos for being so warm and accommodating. We will definitely be returning as it was a great experience overall.

Lived the mussel pot I ordered. Craved it for a while and was very happy with it. Food took a bit long to come but we were there on a Monday afternoon.Kids enjoyed the play area

I went for sushi since its half price on Wednesdays. The presentation of the sushi was poor the sauces spilled all over. I was there for 20min before a waiter came to ask if I've been helped and then took my order. The food arrived surprisingly quickly. Then the waiter disappeared so I couldn't order a drink. Much later another waiter came and asked if I needed anything I suppose because it was almost closing time or she noticed I was left unattended for so long. I asked for a takeaway and bill. The takeaway came the bill didn't. I had to wait again. It was my 2nd bad service experience at this particular restaurant. Unfortunately the manager who welcomed me in wasn't there as I was leaving to bring this to his attention.

Food was excellent with huge portions that were tasty and presented on lekker-looking plates. On the other hand the service was meh and the waitress disappeared halfway through the meal. We called the soda fountain ladies to assist us and things improved. The play area is great fun. Good venue.

John Dory's, Shelly Beach, once again didn't disappoint. The service was excellent and the sushi starter with the Captain's Seafood Platter was absolutely delicious. Washed down with a glass of sparkling wine. There is always a freindly happy atmosphere, which makes you want to return. Highly recommend.
