The Afropolitan Guest Lodge

She was very friendly and welcoming. Never complained about anything and made sure that we're safe and sound. Plus she's very beautiful and an all round phenomenal woman. That's why I give her and the place 5 fantastic stars

We initially asked when making our reservation that we use the pool between certain hours. We were only told a day before our checking in that we cannot use the pool as they made another reservation for a different group.When we checked in we were forced to make full payment before we could view the rooms. We wanted to see the rooms because we had a bad feeling driving in, the area outside seemed a bit dodgy and there is no sign at the gate to indicate the property.The first room we walked in had a cockroach, the painting on the walls are peeling off, there were stains on the bed covers and chairs, there is a mould odour in the rooms, a friend of mine immediately had her sinuses reacting to the smell in the rooms. The doors are broken, the ceilings have markings, toilet seats also have markings, the showers looked filthy. The owner refused to give us back some sort of refund. It made sense why we were forced to pay the full amount before we could view the rooms.We immediately left and made other arrangements elsewhere as we could not sleep there and were ripped off our money.We even took pictures of the terrible conditions the rooms were in. Unfortunately this platform does not allow for the upload of pictures

I didn't even stay there for an hour I saw a mice in the room. They insisted on giving us another room, like that is going to get rid of the problem. They refused refund us.

The staff are very helpful and very friendly. It feels like a home away from home and I would recommend it for family especially the 2 bedroom family suite. Great place with plenty outdoor space including covered bar and cabana for a rainy day. We love the Afropilitan.

Nothing functioned for self catering services. Water not hot therefore we took cold showers. Our stay wasn't pleasant. Don't recommend it.

I had a wonderful time at the afropolitan, this get away was very relaxing ...the rooms were clean the gardens were well maintained the staff was friendly and it was definitely worth it.

It's been a lovely and exceptional experience staying at the Afropolitan. The staff really goes out of their way to make me feel really comfortable and welcome. Really feels like a luxurious home away from home. I'm having the best engagement weekend ever. It's been awesome.

Didn't even end up staying. The area wasn't safe. Friendly staff but the place itself is run down and not clean. I paid just over R600. I didn't even stay the night and had to find alternative accommodation. No refund was given to me. Extremely disappointed. Would not recommend if hygiene and safety is what you're looking for.

This place has false advertising, the first red flag was how dodgy it looked from the moment we stepped in. We did not feel welcome, we were refused to see the rooms before we paid, the second red flag was the smell that we experienced as soon as we opened the rooms, the toilet was disgusting and smelly, linen was dirty and had stains, basins still had old toothpaste on them, no toilet paper, broken doors, even mould,shower was dirty,the annoying part is we were refused to be paid our balance, we were willing to loose the deposit (which we paid weeks in advance) but not the amount we settled on the day. The manager was rude and told us not to trust what we see on the internet. I would never recommend this place as it’s disgusting even the managers attitude made it worse. For the amount we paid this was such a disappointment. We still want our money back because we had to book elsewhere.
