I arrived in the late afternoon in Prince Albert, I did not realise that one had to book at most restaurants. At The Rude Chef they refused outright to be hospitable for one person to sit and have a meal. Even though they claimed to be fully booked there were still many tables open inside and 2 open outside .. so by the time one person orders a drink and meal, starts eating the other booked guests might have arrived so the kitchen would cope. I really was disgusted that as a visitor the place refused outright to allow ONE person to sit … I am suprised that a previous review stated they were 5 people and the restaurant hospitable made space for them even though almost fully booked but they refuse outright to allow ONE paying customer to sit .. its not much effort from the kitchen or staff for one extra person. Utterly disgusted to say the least.

Love the owner, she gives personal attention to her guests, especially to the four legged ones. Had a good apple pie and cream, tea and wine.

Thank you to this amazing Rude Chef and her staff. A special effort was made to accommodate our group of 4 with special needs for my lady. Anthea our kind waitress made arrangements for sugar free veggies and their attention to us in spite of a private birthday party. The recommendation was spot on. Thank you. We will be back.

what a great meal and the portions are just ridiculous such great value for money !the ribs were cooked to perfection, the babootie was superb and that burger was wowza !!staff was also super friendly, really nice to see lots of locals eating there to showing it’s a great restaurant at great prices great quality just all round great !!

Good value for money, fresh and tasty Karoo dishes. Always feels so comfortable and at home at this wonderful restaurant. Their apple pie/tart is a winner too!

We enjoyed ourselves here and had a lovely meal. The menue is great and many choices! The owner was very friendly and took our order. The waiter who served us was very friendly and helpful. Definetely I will recommend them and will go there again.
