Ferry Point
Very rustic. Superb locality with 5 star view, needs lots of improvement though.

This place false advertisers! Run down, will definitely not return. The bar area is now non existent. The pool" is empty. The main recreational area is filthy. Whilst the bedrooms were fine

Ferry Point
Pros: excellent location (peaceful, right on the beach/river mouth), friendly hosts, didn't feel commercialised, spacious bar/lodge area, lovely views. Cons: a bit run down, camping area didn't have a dishwashing area, the bathroom plumbing in the flat our friends rented wasn't working properly. All in all, we would definitely go back.

Ferry Point
One of the few places left to truly get away from it all. Good value for money nestled away in paradise.

It is beautiful and quiet, but there is no sea view nor paving. But still great!

Ferry Point
I stayed at Ferry Point several times over the last few years and got to know it quite well.I liked it because it felt like being in a movie. Beautiful jungle all around, huge cliffs, a beach that stretches for miles, very big river, hornbills, samango monkeys etc etc. Of all the places I've stayed in Africa, this has THE best location. Tarzan-ish, dreamy.I've been looking at some pics I took, but they don't really capture how lush and close the jungle is, or how big the cliffs really are. It's difficult to describe how different it actually feels to the real world. You wake up in the morning & there's all these birds that look like they belong in a zoo, the ferry going back & forth, the sound of waves, old lighthouse across the river, African huts on the hillsides...magic.Definitely not The Ritz. It's a very old property, and not at all like the commercial developments that you find up the coast. I liked that though, I suppose because it's unpretentious and unaffected. Not the usual tailored feel. Homely - you just go there & do your own thing.Excellent fishing, with the beach and river right there, and Poenskop (magic place) about 5km up the road. I caught mostly Kob, some Shad & Grunter too.I liked that all the electricity is solar, gas stoves, spring water, veggie garden etc - totally off the grid. Whenever there were power cuts in town (often), the other side of the river was all dark, while Ferry Point was lit up like a Christmas tree.I always felt safe there. It's on the other side of the river from the town, so it's very quiet.Rates: it cost practically nothing.Very friendly owners too, and the bar was lots of fun. Nice place - very memorable.
