I had 2 amazing experiences in the maternity ward at cormed where both my daughters were delivered by Dr Verwey. The nurses etc there are outstanding. However, I cannot recommend the casualties department, they just do not take instance’s seriously. I have had 2 experiences now where the Drs at casualties simply do not take situations seriously or do proper examinations etc . Yesterday I ended up paying double . Once at Cormed casualties (where my daughter was barely examined and was told she would be fine) and then again at Emfuleni Mediclinic where extensive testing and examinations were done , specialists were called out , and finally appropriate care was given . I truly believed in Cormed but I will never visit their casualties department again. Money wasted and serious trauma could have been prevented if appropriate care was given the first time around .

Receptionist at hospital did not inform me that there will be extra charges over and above after hours and weekend consultations for emergencies. The doctors are good but admin people need to improve communication skills and let patients know what they will be in for. All my medical aid funds are depleted and now they say I still owe??

The service was absolutely phenomenal. From the cleaning staff to the Dr's... My mom was in that hospital after having an operation and what an amazing experience she had. They looked after my mom so well and I wouldn't have asked for better. I will definitely recommend Cormed to anyone. Because they actually Care. Thank you Cormed and ALL the staff for making moms stay a one to remember.

Took me 8 months to finally pen this down but I am still scarred from my experience. I arrived in labour, and at the urging of the midwife who was seeing me, ended up being coerced and emotionally blackmailed into having a caesarean.I was in labour when my water broke. The nurses rushed me in but they had already made up their minds before they took me in.They expected a csection patient because of the midwifes call, but my refusal threw them off. The nurse did not listen to me, consistently yelled at me, told me that I would have a dead baby if I didn't sign the consent forms. They didn't listen when my husband told them to respect my choice. They repeatedly urged me to sign the forms or else they would not proceed with my labour. I had been in labour for ten hours and I could barely think straight. It was a first time birth and no one told me I could say no. It might have all stemmed from good intentions but I am inexplicably traumatised from that treatment. It has contributed to PPD and I had a very tough time coming to the party after my baby was born. The nurses were very nice after I had agreed and very obliging when my baby was delivered, but before then, it felt like hell. 5 star treatment as long as you listen to them.Would not recommend unless one is planning a caesarean. The essence of healthcare had been lost because it's all about the money and convenience now. Csections fill the hospitals and doctors pockets and don't inconvenience them at odd times as it is a planned procedure.

I was due for an operation on Thursday 15 June . I arrived at 11 and waited for an hour and a half in my room then my daughter had to ask the nursing staff when they will admit me? I was done by 17h00 by Dr Pieter Aucamp i came from theatre in a lot of pain and was moaning the whole time . A staff member with the name Shirley from General ward , she gave me pain medicine and was very sympathetic and friendly , and calmed me down the whole time. at 21h30 I ranged the bell and ask them for pain meds, she said do not worry the sister is next door , at 23h00 2 care workers came to bath me , and I lost it and refused because I still not had any pain meds , they came back and told me , the instruction is , that I will then be bathed at 3h00 in the morning, I said its fine but I want my pain meds. At 23 h00 I got pain meds . During they night the care was good . Next morning at 9h30 I rang the bell for pain meds and 10h30 my daugter arrived she had to go to the nursing station to aske them for meds , the Blonde lady in a red uniform was extremely rude , and started passing the buck my daughter stopped her and she we only want pain meds and then asked for the file and we saw I was suppose to get pain meds every 6 hoursJust a reminder I am 75 years old and if I can not get more pain meds they must explain to me why

Well as I go to CORMED casualties very often, with my children as well as myself. So this morning I called in to hear who is duty they said Dr. Lategan which I was grateful for (I love Dr Lategan and his daughter Dr. M Lategan). When I arrived at casualties it was Dr. Koegner(something like that) she hardly examend me. I got upset then she quickly changed her diagnosis with me, then they could put drips on ect....I will not go to CORMED casualties if I call and hear Dr, Groblaar is on Duty. He sent my 1 year old son home (fever 41.3) with suppositories last year it cost me to go in Emfuleni thank God there was a great doc on duty, which of he tested positive for swine flu....Sorry Dr. Groblaar and Koegner is a NOOOO go for me

Came out of theatre around 10:30am and was served a snack consisting of crisp dry unedible sanwiches with dried out cheese. Shocking for a hospital that use to be 1 of the best in the area. I really hope the shareholders take note of the non conformance related to catering services!

I had my baby girl here via c-section last week, 21/6/21. It did not feel like a hospital stay. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The food was incredible. They made me feel so at home that I was sad to leave. As a private paying patient, I found the fees to be more than reasonable and the most cost-effective by far after comparing it to other private hospitals in a very wide area. I would highly recommend them and certainly make use of them should the future demand it. Great hospital

At casualty there is a R300.00 fee to be paid upfront. My medical will pay casualty in full so why the admission fee. (and it is not even stated on bill send to medical.) 2nd The Doctor on duty sent us home without any script . (waiting for blood test result to make a diagnosis which come back positive for Covid). When we phone casualty, Sister on duty said we must phone Dr Lategan for script, but he did not even seen us. How on earth? The Doctors rooms are so busy no Doctor available that is the reason we went to casualty to get proper care. Lately it seems that it all go about the money and not patient care! Thanks Cormed.
