Nice bicycle shop, but unfriendly & rude owner, he's not very serious to help you with your service

I have a 2006 Fuji Utah Mtb and the fork couldn't lock or be adjusted as this is an old bike. The bike is in super good condition and to me it's got more value in my hand. So I changed the fork and just as it was the caliper didn't fit so I was so desperate to have it fixed and is willing to do anything. I have planned the Hoogekraal trail and now I'm stuck. I live in Melkbosstrand and I basically stopped and phoned every possible bike shop. No one was able to help or make a plan. So I ended up at Geco Cycles. I phoned and spoke to Brandon and he was ready to help. When I arrived he immediately took the bike and started making a plan. He fitted the hydraulic caliper system and everything is sorted out. So I took the opportunity to changed the handle bar and stem and his mechanic fitted everything. I was able to do my Hoogekraal ride as planned. They went the extra mile to sort me out. I will send my Giant road bike next and have Brandon do the hydraulic disc conversion at the back. With such excellent service I will drive all the way from Melkbos to support Geco Cycles. Thank you so much for the service received.

First time that I have bought a bicycle within 20 minutes. Such great advice from Fred. Really helped me in understanding that my 10 year old does not necessarily need a R12k off-road competition bike. A better value bike is fine for my hesitant and infrequent biking son. This help means that I bought with 'no regrets' and will always be back. Don't go anywhere Fred.

A while back I took my road bike, which has not had a serviced in a long time, I knew that a couple things needed to be replaced. I went back in a weeks time. I was told and showed all that was wrong and replaced and that there was an issue with my shifter, the mechanic wanted to clean it and service it properly etc he would phone me Monday even though it would be after hours he will open for me so I can collect. I never heard from him (even though they swore high and low they tried to contact me). I left it for another week and I phoned them to find out what's happening as I have not heard anything. After I told the person answering the phone who I was and what bike was mine it was said that I am the person with the bike that they waited for the shifter to be replaced, there I was already upset as nothing was ever discussed with me and it and the mechanic installed a new shifter after he told me another story, I don't know what happened with the original shifter. Fred phoned me back a long while later and apologized for the mishap and wanted to know when I can come and collect. Upon collection I paid, I swear these guys practice how each one should act and what they should say to comfort an upset client, just to get you out of their hair, as I was done in from my original 10 speed to a 9 speed cassette and was told how much better this other shifter and cassette combination is (once again without communicating with me with regards to what can be done to solve the issue what ever it might have been). Fred assured the mechanic that he had taken the bike for a test which was a blatant lie as I later wanted to ride I found that the handlebar was stil loose, there has been other small issues that has come up, but I refuse to go back to Geco Cycles.

Matt and Liezl has been super helpful and friendly in helping to get my bicycle professionally packed and couriered to Pretoria. Fantastic service, thank you!

I'm getting a service on my bicycle here so ya plus they sorted out a part of my gears for free the other day when they gave me a quote for the service that is needed on the rest of the bike so because they are willing to pick up a tool and do a little job for free in order to keep a customer ,it's only right to give five stars !Thank you Geco cycles .Jacques Dewald Gericke is my name !
