My kids always complain it's smells but the place needs a face-lift like u shopping in the, 80s

Checkout is my go-to shop because its just in the next avenue by me. I love their market days and specials and their baked bread delish with potjie. Keep up the hoid work. Thanks

Checkout is the place you stop at when you're budgeting the balance of your budget :)Prices are JUST RIGHT! Allowing you to save on a few Rands but most importantly shop for your essentials without breaking the bank.Checkout saved me quite a few times... and it's not the best looking shop but I guess that's what keeps the prices so low ;)

I was there today to buy a few essentials, and there was a elderly lady in front of me. The security at the door turned her away, because she did not have a mask on. She tried to explain that she has nothing at home, and would like to buy a few things, but yet the guy at the door refused her entrance. A total stranger who stood there, offered her his mask so that she may enter. Eventually she went in to go buy her groceries. I was next in line, and was also refused entry. I asked to see the manager, but was refused. I eventually shouted past the guy at the door to someone behind the counter to call the manager. Some guy eventually came to speak to me. I had a mask around my neck, and explained to him that I am claustrophobic and that I have a letter from the doctor. HE STILL REFUSED TO LET ME IN. I tried to explain to him that I go through roadblocks everyday, and that other bigger shops like Checkers etc, does not bother to ask the customers to wear masks. I received a reply that he doesn't care, and I can even bring the government, he still will not allow me in. So, they have no empathy whatsoever for their fellow human-beings who i is trying to provide for their families. They didn't even have empathy for our senior who wanted to buy something. I for one will not ever be returning to shop there again, and I will tell those I know about my horrible experience I had there and that they should not ever shop there again. They just lost a valued customer, and they will be losing more once I spread the word.

Easy access makes all the difference. My go to shop for quickly getting something. They are superb.

This place was stinking inside and outside from day one until it eventually clsed.

Checkout is a supermarket in the heart of 5be community in Belgravia Estate, Athlone. They cater for most of the needs of their immediate community in the surrounding area. My Favourite item is their most g0dekwctanke Ice cream, in the picture. Sold at R12 a cup. Full cream dairy icecream . They also have their own Checkout brand of quality groceries and cleaning products at very reasonable prices. They are open from 9 till late, which caters for the needs of the working clientele.

Very good store very good priced better than pick n pay and shoprite on pricing

Even they prices are good, the shop itself needs upgrading

First and last time I will ever go to this store. Filthy. The cleaner used a dirty mop to wipe floors. The smell as you walk into store was nauseating. Staff on a go slow.
