Value for Money! Central Fisheries is by far the best. Whenever I'm back home in South Africa , i make it my duty to have a fresh warm salt and vinegar Fish and Chips parcel from Central Fisheries in Tableview. The portions are big too.. Absolutely stunning!

When the craving hits this is our go to place. We love getting our fish & chips here. Quick service & fresh food.

I stopped purchasing from Central a while ago because the standard of quality had slipped with raw chips, smelly fish etc. Then I popped in earlier this year and saw a few new faces behind the counter and decided to give them another chance. I have to say, the food is amazing, fresh and delicious, speedy service and great value for money!!! The fish batter is 2 die for and I go back at least once a week. Yum!

Heard about how great the chips and fish is but was very disappointed got me a chip roll at 9 am in the morning the roll was old and the chips cold I opened it when I got in the car worse chip roll ever

Central Fisheries is the bestold school" fish and chips shop. There good is always fresh. They serve THE BEST SLAP CHIPS EVER.They are friendly and efficient and VERY AFFORDABLE. I recommend their fish and chips ( and their delicious fish cakes) whole heartedly."

NEW OWNERS. I came here for quick slap chips and cripsy calamari. Chips looks boiled(very white) and bought Calamari thats batter was not adhering to the strips, OBVIOUSLY they do mot know how to make calamari correctly(as certain strips was rubbery as hell). No taste, no salt. If I wanted that I would get my 10 year old to make it. There is an ad in the window for a Gatsby. A Gatsby it is not. Saw them making it(for another customer) and it looked like a sad chip roll.Sad as I supported this place for 15 years and was my go to fisheries, if this shop doesn't pull up its socks, it will turn into the white elephant take out next door to them.

Great quality fish however I wish they would drain some of the oil properly. Was soaked in oil. Beautiful fish but far too much oil. Please offer grill option.

Have bought from this fish and chips store for many years. Seems since new owners have taken over its just not that great anymore. Portions have gotten way smaller and the 2 ladies working in store have git zero customer service. Such a pity. Once a real gem. Now not so great.

The worst fish and chips I've ever had the misfortune of eating! Oil just drips from everything, don't believe me? Try for yourself! Take off a piece of batter (meant to be light weight and fluffy with minimal herbs and spices) and squeeze it in your hands, drip drip drip! After squeezing all the batter from this fish, I was left with close to 250ml of oil and this is what they sell you to feed your family plus the oil is brown!I asked for 2 pieces of hake and 2 pieces of snoek with medium chips but was sold 4 pieces hake and 4 pieces snoek with medium chips for R272, why I don't know and wondered why the price was so high. Only realised there were more pieces when I got home!The fish itself was dry and old, zero herbs, zero spices or any type of flavours but salt. Not sea salt from the fish but table salt, but why add salt to this dish?The images of inside the store as seen here in their images, are outdated! The shop does not look like this, fresh and clean but instead run down, old and tired!Please view images and videos! Gave this food to the cats, hope they survive! You (owner) should be ashamed of serving this disgusting food, considering Cape Town is South Africa's number one fish and chips hot spot plus fresh fish is caught daily down the road! Absolutely shocking! Sis!
