Great workmanship and service

I needed my downlighter bulbs replaced with LED bulbs. I was quoted R180 per unit if the fitting had to be replaced. I was unable to inspect the work prior to paying the account as I had a guest for the month of April directly after the bulbs were replaced. The fittings did not have to be replaced but I was still charged R180 per fitting despite the total cost of the bulb and LED socket being in the region of R80 at retail prices. In addition I was charged for 28 fittings. but only 23 were changed. I contacted Harness - Gareth who said he would look into this and come back to me. I have since been unable to contact him and my mobile number and landline appear to have been blocked by him. By my calculation, I have been overcharged by R3 000. Be advised not to use this contractor.

If we could rate no stars, we would. We are extremely disappointed with the service we received from Harness Electrical. They 'installed' a inverter and battery system at our home. After numerous failed attempts and problems that we experienced during the installation process and after contacting the new owner of Harness Electrical directly to please come and direct his work team to make sure they are working correctly, he never came to inspect their work once. When we had the unfortunate experience of Eskom load shedding coupled with a break down where our battery died after 7 hours, the inverter just never kicked back on once Eskom power was restored. We called Harness Electrical once again only to have our calls declined and messages ignored. We called another electrician to assist who then informed us that Harness Electrical workers had not installed a vital power surge protector from the main DB board to the inverter subsequently frying our brand new and very expensive inverter, rendering it useless. As a result of this substandard service, we have lost over R32 000 and suggest you explore all options before selecting an electrician.
