Strandfontein Pavilion

Beautiful beach! Tidal pool is perfect for the kids to splash around in as it isn't deep at all, life guards are always present on a weekend. More of safe environment now with police patrolling around the area all weekend as well.

The 'edge pool' type of thing they built there drives me crazy.It is awesome.Pollok beach-PE is my favourite but this must be the closest competitor.I am super impressed.

It's a place where we spent and enjoyed most of our time growing up, it was a beautiful amazing awesome place back then. The people of our Strandfontein community and surrounding areas still enjoy going there and spending time with family and friends. But Strandfontein pavilion is now completely broken, run down and greatly neglected by the city of Cape Town (DA) municipality and it's heartbreaking to see how other areas like Sea Point, Strand, Camps Bay and all the area's where the rich reside are beautified and uplifted year on year but the working class areas are always over looked as if we don't pay rates and taxes. Hope the City of Cape Town will be restoring Strandfontein pavilion back to it's former glory!!!!! DA remember 2024 is an election year!!!

My toe got cut in the water and wouldn't stop bleeding, I was directed to the lifeguard post and we'll was I surprised. These young men sprang into action, cleaning and dressing my wound and taping it up so I could get back out there to enjoy the sun... A big thank you to Liam, Karl and Adrian for your assistance... You guys are a credit to lifeguard duty, We'll done!

The credit has to go to the people who clean here as despite the obvious and persistent signs of neglect, it's very clean - no rubbish strewn anywhere.It was very quiet when I went here and the place was mostly occupied by fishermen catching from the rocks.There's a small tuck shop and clean toilets but not much else as one would expect from a beach pavilion.More could be done to make the place wheelchair friendly and certainly more could be done to restore the place to its former glory and beyond that.Saw no lifeguards on duty and no law enforcement either.

Currently under major construction on the open beach where the braai area once was not sure if it's for the public or private I would hope it's for a better overal experience as it use to be run down and dangerous had a broken road leading to the beach. Other then that it's well maintained by the city(clean working toilets) just wish the visitors would take interest in doing the same and cleaning up after themselves utilizing the bins that are provided. It's a lovely local beach to visit.

Very nice beach for the whole family. What needs improvement is the current infrastructure. The toilets needs a major upgrade. There needs to be a small shop or take aways, so that people can buy and sell. The roads where the Fisherman's catching fish needs to be upgraded as well.Overall it's a beautiful view.

Great Place to go and reflect at the ooe water and tidal pool.. Kids enjoyed scrambling through rocks and water with fishing nets.. Bit slippery and can be a bit dangerous so go when the fisherman are present.

This place desperately requires a renovation.People should not allow anyone playing with a soccer ball where there are people with kids around.This spot could be a beautiful place to relax.Karin

It has a tidal pool that's shallow for children to play in sea water. The beach is a few meters away where one can enjoy the ocean waves. It has no shops that is open except during festive seasons. It is a popular attraction for the locals.
