UBuntu Bridge - Learn Xhosa
I had been struggling to learn Xhosa for a while before signing up to learn with Ubuntu Bridge. Oh my goodness! What a difference this course made to my studies. After just a few lessons, i was able to speak so much more than after my previous year of studies. The course is very well structured, gets you conversing in Xhosa quickly and gives you the confidence to 'have a go' in the real world. As I have moved through the different levels (now level 4) my respect for the material has only increased. What about the 5th star? Of course, there is always room for further improvement and growth and I believe Ubuntu Bridge has exciting plans to develop. They need more students to make this possible - i encourage anyone reading this to sign up for the first 6/8 week course, you won't regret it. :)

I have been a member of the Ubuntu Bridge online community for several years now. I appreciate their mission and feel so lucky to learn from the instructors not only a language, but a culture. As I travel and live between NYC, USA and Cape Town, South Africa I can demonstrate my love for my second home and family in Khayelitsha Township by learning to speak the language and respect the culture. Enkosi! Sobonana!!

We signed up to learn practical, every day phrases and to get more cultural insight. Although we realise it will be a long journey, it’s an exciting one.The set up of the lessons is JUUUUST right. Perfectly orchestrated and supported by the comprehensive material in written, for listening and watching. I hadn’t expected this to this amount. And I appreciate it a lot! Our job doesn’t always allow to join – and it’s great that we always feel we can catch up due to the materials.I very much appreciate the perspective from which we are taught: all the puzzling elements of word/syntax-construction are so well explained. I believe knowing both cultures so well helps to explain this so well.Personally, first I felt a bit overwhelmed with the amount of verbs to be learned after session 2. But now I realize there is a lot of repetition of those verbs, so I’m getting the hang of it.I do require the practice of speaking and being spoken to in isiXhosa (even if this is not my comfort zone). This is just the additional element that you offer as “coaching”.So absolute thumbs up! Please keep up with this great course concept and your dedication. I really believe you make a difference.

I'm now in the middle of the three units and I'm very excited about the way you built this up, the way you explain things and you make it easy and understandable to learn not only the basic vocabulary but also the basic grammar. Thanks to you I now have little conversations with the people around me on a dayli bases and I learn more each and every day.

Excellent well supported method of gaining a working knowledge of Xhosa and understanding of Xhosa culture. Craig’s passion helps this with his drive towards “UBUNTU”

UBuntu Bridge - Learn Xhosa
UBuntu Bridge really has helped me to feel more connected in South Africa. Being able to speak even only a few phrases in isiXhosa has opened my heart and so many hearts of my fellow citizens. I am humble and grateful how beautifully received my Xhosa speaking efforts are. UBuntu Bridges teaching style enabled me quickly to say the most crucial things and then when I get stuck, I know how to politely exit the conversation or use my isiXhosa to let people help me with my learning. Just great!
