PILGRIM'S REST
Do go straight to the information centre in uptown". This will make the experience far better. There are indeed many well maintained tiny museums. But there are also hawkers (5 in a row

Had a nice visit. Did not like the unasked 'carwash'. Shame about the run down camp site! Another fail for our governments account. Good place to take some photo's. Nice roads and passes to Pelgrims. Just watch some potholes. Use Waze app.

Had a blast walking through the old town.Looking at the old museums.Enjoyed a pizza and a beer at Woods Distillery.Enjoyed the down town area much more than the area of the royal hotel.Could not go up to robbers' graves as it started to rain. Road from Graskop Sabie was better as a couple of years back.

PILGRIM'S REST
We were so happy we visited Pilgrims Rest(PG)...after hearing about 'nuisance hawkers' we nearly didn't go. We experienced less than a handful in uptown, but were in our car so it really was fine. The historical village was a delight and full of nostalgia and wonder. The towns people were welcoming and friendly. We walked up to the little Church in uptown PG with its majestic bell and beautiful old stonework and stained glass windows. After that, an elderly gentleman and local started talking to us about the interesting war monument with its 2 old canons, which is opposite the Print Shop in uptown. He also told us all about how the oak trees came ro be planted there.Downtown was also delightful and we chose to stop here for milkshakes, pancakes and waffles. Service was prompt and the food was scrumptious. The little pottery shop was a delight.I'd definitely recommend a visit to PG, Bourke's Luck Potholes... and number 1...the Graskop Gorge Lift. Sudwala Caves were also a bit of an adventure.

PILGRIM'S REST
Our visit here was very nice and we enjoyed the old world feel to it. It is very peacefull and if you enjoy casual strolls and browsing through a variety of shops and spend time at pubs and restaurants yiu will enjoy visiting this town.Pilgrim' Rest is owned by local government. Although it is well worth a visit the neglect of maintenance to the buildings and area is evident since the government does not do what they are supposed to.It is a shame that this once beautifull town and important herritage site is going to waste due to total neglect.

Beautiful place to stop at. The dorp has seen some hard times. But it has improved a lot and is worth a walk around. I liked down town side more.

PILGRIM'S REST
I feel sorry for the business owners. The road now bypasses the main strip, fewer visitors. Many attractions were closed some are empty. Royal Hotel should be avoided. Rather visit Jhonny's pub in the lower street. Good food at a very reasonable price.

Vine Restaurant has okay food. Johnny's Pub is great! Johnny is fun to talk with. The atmosphere is enjoyable. Service is up to snuff. The town is quaint and lively after 10am, but closes down around 8 to 9. The Royal Saloon might stay open for you. The views are beautiful. The African artwork is varied and worth the shopping.
