Swatch Johannesburg Sandton City Shopping Center

No stock of desirable watches, and staff refuses to tell you telephonically if they have stock. They won’t sell them online either. The Sandton store serves the top half of South Africa, so you have to drive there from Bloem and hope for the best. It’s the worst business model ever. Just bad.Other watches that falls under the Swatch Group, like Omega, you can order and pay for at other retailers. You can even get the actual Omega Moonwatch (Hesalite or Saphire Sandwitch) on order. Worst is that other notorious brands like Rolex at least puts you on a waiting list. A courtesy Swatch won’t extend.

Trying to get one of the new Omega Swatch watches. Have beein queing since 4 am. They only allow 2 people into the store. There are guys who skip the que and guys whose friends gets pushed into the front. They seem to know the staff and they get preferential treatment. This is a scam and a money making racket for youngsters. They go around the corner to the medical suites and solicit people who are queing to buy the watches for an additional R2500 over retail. It is no 11am, the que is not moving and the swatch staff are allowing these guys in over and over again. So much for being a loyal customer for years!

I have three Swatch watches. Strap needed replacement. New strap recommended. Replaced promptly in the shop. Also a watch too loose, fixed, and a pin lost, replaced. Quick and easy. New strap obviously paid for but all else part of the Swatch service. Well done to the young assistant. Great service.

Sigh. I have wasted so much time today with Swatch Sandton.I have been trying to get the Omega x Swatch (Moon or Mercury). I stayed in line for 30min. Only to get told that they are sold out. What really frustrates me is on singular individual walks in and buys 4 Omegas. HOW INSANE. It’s not fair. It should be limited to one omega watch per customer. So disappointed.I’m willing to even do a full deposit of the watch and get it once it is delivered. I asked the people at swatch to please take my details and notify me, but they refuse.Such a disorganized way of selling watches. I even phoned Menlyn branch only for them to state that Sandton is the only place that sells the Omega watches. Massive bottleneck approach.I mean just double your stock. There was over 50 people in the line waiting to purchase an Omega x Swatch. Pathetic.

I was blown away by the fantastic service I received at the Sandton Swatch Shop. Onke went above and beyond to assist me with choosing a watch, showing me endless options and giving honest feedback. She also setup the 'Swatch Pay' app for me so that when I left the shop I was instantly able to pay for my parking with my watch!!! I was really impressed. Thank you Onke for making the whole experience a happy and exciting one.

Very disappointing service. I’ve phoned the Swatch store everyday for about 3 weeks checking to see whether the Omega x Swatch stock had arrived. I phoned on Thursday 12pm asking whether they had stock - they said no and that I should phone tomorrow (Friday) as they may have them then. They’ve also made it clear they don’t notify people when stock arrives. I tried my luck 5 hours later at 5pm and they tell me stock had arrived but they’re sold out. I struggle to believe the stock was sold out in less than 5 hours (during a work day) without the establishment or staff notifying anyone. Or do they let 1 person buy up all the watches? Very unfair and unethical way to do business. I am totally put off buying this watch or anything from Swatch

Thank you to the sales assistant who assisted me today with the repair of my watch strap at no cost and polished my watch. Your service today earns the store, 5 stars.

Horrible service. Been calling at least twice a week and been to the store physically to find out if a watch is available and have asked to be contacted once it’s here. They refused to take my contact information to call me and basically want me to carry in calling in every day to find out if they received the stock. What utter BullS:()t. And that according to “Head Office Policy “ to NOT contact customers when a particular stock arrives. It’s no wonder the other stores closed down here.

Brought my Swatch in for a minor repair. It is still under warranty. Sales consultant advise that repair will take 8-10 weeks. I don’t believe this turnaround time is acceptable.

Utter disgusting behaviour. Been called a thief when the employee neglected to confirm that I had paid previously then said I could go. Was called over the phone and belittled and talked down too about how I am now being reported to the mall security to be arrested next time I am seen there.Disgusting behaviour when there’s an error on THIER part, complained to the international body. Will see if I get feedback from them.STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE.
