A purchase of my dream home in Newlands Peak has taken a different course. Rawson Developers did not ensure performance specifications on double glazed windows despite the addition of R75 000 for the optional extra in a luxury development on a major railways station in Newlands. I have requested a meeting with Rawson Directors for 2 months without any response. Now my onely recourse is a legal route with a contract dispute. My dream home now a difficult experience :(

This is an office block that house The Rawson Property group. This is the Franchisor and no sales or rentals are done from this premises. The Franchisor offers administrative supprt to its Franchises across the country.

Is Rawson staff working? are they reading my email? i have sent several request not to call me due my deafness but seem it ignore....what should i do?

Newlands peak, moved in January construction and noise continues every day. Apartment wasn’t up to scratch when I moved in. I’m pretty convinced the doors are refurbished, the idea was there but poor execution.

There's a good reason why Rawsons have such bad reviews.Had the worst experience with the Rawson-developers and agents, it was all smooth sailing from the get-go as first time buyers of an apartment block - more specifically The Tokyo.At first the agent Gadija guided us through the process but then we realized now that we have to start paying all the transfer costs and other additional costs that were NOT specified in the OTP (Agreement of Sale) - which were also not mentioned to us by Gadija, it's her job to let us know about things in order for us to budget, to be doing all the communication between the developers & contractors (that's why they get commission!) in regards to any issues/snags that we had listed during the first inspection of the apartment.First of all, when the occupational letter was officially certified, we were not made aware that we had to pay a lump sum at the end of the development, which ended up being a R140k lump sum! Where on earth is someone supposed to just pull that out of?Secondly, this new development (The Tokyo) was so badly constructed as you could clearly see that this building was a rushed construction, signs of conspicuous poor workmanship. It was brought to my attention by the construction workers that the development was meant to be completed in December 2023 (even though they never specified on paper) but apparently 'completed' end of May 2023.Moving furniture into the building was an absolute nightmare as the construction workers were still on-site completing the roof-top, we waited 10 minutes for space in the elevator just to get our things in & out. We spent easily over an hour just to move a fridge and a bed into the apartment due to waiting for the service elevator to become available.We paid an additional R40k for their 'premium' finishing and boy oh boy was it disappointing, the granite counter-top looked like it was an afterthought were it seems like it was done on-site. There were rusted hinged in the bathroom, cement in the toilet basin, a leaking bathroom basin, water damage under the kitchen sink, condensation in the room, cupboards not closing properly, door handles not installed properly, vinyl finishing on the cupboards were horrifying with a jagged edge as if cut with a blunt blade etc.They definitely don't deserve the 'sales' commission on this as they only did half of their job and just left us to deal with all these issues thinking that everything is fine and dandy - that they did their part.I will probably never EVER deal with any of these people again in the future and would much rather put my money in other reliable developers.
