They never answer their switchboard phones. On the odd occasion that they do they have no idea of where people are, who's who, or how to contact them. Too much red tape restricts any direct contact with management irrespective of whether their clients are receiving the benefits or services they are entitled to as per this company's rules and regulations and the client's contract. Sad but true...Telkom staff including management behaved the same. They do not value client relationships!

If I could give MTN a zero, I would. Both my partner and I are MTN clients. My kids phones are with the same network.After being a client of MTN from 1998 / 1999, I realized that there is no loyalty in having such a long history with MTN. I am merely a number to them. And after being pushed from pillar to post with MTN staff members not knowing who to transfer me too, i realize that in this Covid pandemic I do not need extra stress from a disorganized company.After more then 5 days trying to sort out an account and being told the turnaround time is 14 days by one staff member and a Morningside MTN store staff member telling me that it could be a month and not wanting to take payment. Really? And getting to the head office at 15:00 in the afternoon only to find out that the office closes at 13:00. (Due to COVID). We are no longer on level 4 or 5. How about arranging shifts and less staff on a shift -at least your clients will be able to talk to the correct people. Because trying to get hold of anyone via telephone is really the luck of the draw. If they don't by accident cut you off as well.My hard working money can be spent with an alternative company, with the likes of Vodacom / Telkom/ Cell C whom have a better network and more signal in the areas where I work and stay.It will be worth paying the early cancellation fee.Thanks MTN for nothingPhoto is of a empty parking lot at 15:00 at a head office

If you are looking for a reliable network with good customer service. It's not MTN they don't care about customers can't wait for my contract to end won't make the same mistake again.

My husband passed away on 19 July 2021. I immediately went in to the Brits office where the assistants tried their best. I took the death certificate, proof of residence and both my and my deceased husband's IDs. Although the device was in my name, the account holder was in my husband's name. My husband's device and account was cancelled, and I was advised to pay manually for my account until the contract expired on 15 July 2022. I have supplied 3 months bank statements in my name, and branches in Brits Constantia, Cape Town and Ballito have tried to assist to no avail, .... and I am still receiving bills for my husband's cancelled account.AND IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT.Is my only option to cancel with MTN and take out a contract with Vodacom?Patricia BennieACC Nos: BA116559737; BA113489123

So bloody fast to sell a phone contract but completely useless when you call them for fraud. I would avoid this network as there is very little signal i don’t know if this company comes from the Congo or where but I’ve never experienced inexperienced customer service as i have with MTN.

I am extremely unhappy and frustrated with the service received at the MTN store in Clearwater mall. I purchased a new contract for a Huawei Mate50 Pro on Monday, 10 April 2023. It is important to note that I was due for an upgrade on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10, and walked in to the store with the intention of purchasing the new Samsung Galaxy S23.I was swayed by the store assistants (one from MTN and the other from Huawei) who were strongly promoting the Huawei Mate50 Pro, which I was informed was equally as good as the S23 but slightly cheaper. I raised concerns about purchasing a Huawei due to the software issues with Google, however, I was assured by both staff members that I was able to download any and all Google and Android related apps that I would require, and that past issues with Huawei platforms and Google were now sorted out. It was this information which sealed the choice for me.Upon trying to download the Wear OS and Android Auto Apps, I encountered difficulty. I then visited the Huawei store for assistance, and they advised me it was not possible to download these apps, therefore I could not connect the phone to my smart watch or my vehicle.I then went back to the MTN store, on Friday 14th of April (4 days later) and seeked further assistance from the Huawei and MTN staff members with no success. I explained my frustration, as these apps were extremely important to me and without access to them, the phone would be useless to me. The inability to connect to my smart watch meant I would not be earning my discovery vitaltiy health points which accumulate to provide me with multiple benefits and discounts. Furthermore, I travel often for work, and not having access to Android Auto is extremely limiting as I do not have the multitude of functions that the application provides.Considering all of this, I was assured by the MTN staff that I would be able to return/exchange the device, however, to date I have still not received assistance nor a resolution to my issue from the MTN staff. I reached out to the MTN customer care department on 16 April, and was told that this needs to be sorted out by the MTN team within the store and that they could not provide any further assistance.I have called to speak to the store manager countless times and everytime I am promised feedback, but no feedback is given. I am appalled by the lack of customer care and professionalism by the MTN staff within the store, the store manager and the customer care help service.I have been contacting ALL stakeholders well within 7 days of purchase, and do not want to be penalised or stuck with a phone I cannot use because of the lack of assistance I am receiving.I am extremely disappointed with the service received and the lack of transparency. Surely being provided with the incorrect information, with respect to the phones capabilities, could be deemed as a breech of contract by MTN.I would appreciate your urgent assistance with a cancellation or change of device. The phone is boxed up and has not been used since I encountered these issues.Since reporting this complaint on Social Media on Monday, I am still waiting for assistance. Considering going to the head office at 14th avenue to make a scene. Maybe then someone will asisst.

I have had enough with the abysmal standard of customer care services. When you call, they tell you about escalating your query, thereafter know one bothers to revert to you.I'm taking my issues to the National Consumer Commission, please do that. We can't allow MTN to treasure us like dirt. Worst customer service I've ever experienced

Mtn Irene village mallAll of the staff deserve 5 stars. The manager however ever is not equipped to deal with sales or customers. He does not deserve to be a manager and he is reflecting horribly on Mtn aswell as his amazing staff.

Absolutely unable to provide a solution. Query started 07/12/2022 with 14 follow ups by me. Nobody seems to know how to sort this matter out. Have been into the Roodepoort office twice. Many promises made that they will get back to me in 15 minutes or problem will be sorted out by the next day to no avail. Can someone please help.
