Absolutely loved our stay...very tranquil, and blissful. Hosts are amazing. Fishing was supertastic! 5kg was our largest of many caught. Home away from home.

Absolutely a treasure. The Cottage is more than what we expected. Full kitchen with granite tops. Large living area for the price. An actual TV size that you can see whats on the telly on the rainy days or cold nights. Very comfortable queen size bed. The bathroom is very roomy for what I have seen in this price and again very well laid out. The shower is large. There is back-up generator power for when load shedding strikes. With this there is an very nice braai area under a Lapa should you want to braai.My wife and I stayed over for 11nights. We needed the break from a hectic lifestyle. The Vaal Cottage provided exactly that for us. Absolute peace, fresh air and everything you would need to enjoy your stay. Fishing here was great. I managed to catch some very nice fish here. There is a place to launch a boat should you want to go and do some water sports.Bird watchers will also have a lot to do here. Owls at night, and so much more during the day. I was privileged enough to have seen 3 fish eagles and one Black Eagle(not sure if this is the correct name).I must say that the hosts of Vaal Cottage, Michelle and Dave really made us feel welcome from the get go. Also never in your way, but with enough of a presence to know that they are there for you should you need anything. They are really pleasant to talk to and easy going.We really enjoyed our stay here, and will definitely be returning here again.Thanks for letting us stay there, Michelle and Dave

Everything was just AMAZING from the house till the fishing. I would definitely recommend your place to anyone with or without kids.My boy enjoyed the dogs & the play area so much - he was very sad when we had to go home.The price per night is also AMAZING. You don't get such a beautiful place for that price.Hope to visit this place again soon.

Overall, My family and I had a great experience. The boys enjoyed fishing and the kids had a ball and were free to run around. The owners were very incredibly accommodating and allowed us to leave way past checkout time, and the amenities were great. The cottage was clean.We will definitely be going back and would recommend this place to anyone.

Stayed at Lochvaal Cottage #2. Property was well maintained, comfortable and clean. Our hosts were very friendly and made us feel at home. Nice and quiet environment to relax and do a little fishing. Although the living area is upstairs and kitchen downstairs, it was more functional as we spent most of our time downstairs with no messing in the upstairs living area. Will go back again.
