Cape Point Sailing Academy

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience on the Day Skipper's course with Cape Point Sailing. Mark's sailing experience means he is a knowledgeable and confident instructor, and I appreciated being able to ask all kinds of sailing related questions. I would recommend Cape Point Sailing Academy to anyone looking to either start their sailing adventure or build on their sailing experience and qualifications.

Excellent Sailing School, I past my Coastal Skippers Ticket comfortably, with the tutoring and guidance of Mark, who took time to explain things clearly and in a manner everyone could grasp, he has patience but knows when to push you to do better. Bianca is also a great asset to the academy, as she is super organised and efficient, she is kind and friendly which helps to puts you at ease in the classroom. She also knows the academy boat through and through, so I was very thankful to have her as crew on my exam day!

Mark and his team are among the most experienced and knowledgable sailors around. The training was very thorough and done with much patience. It is with confidence that I endorse this great school.

I have attended various courses at Cape Point Sailing Academy through various different trainers including VHF, Medical, Diesel Engines, RADAR, Day Skipper. It's not for teenagers wishing to get a job on a Yacht... Rather, a mature approach is adopted, treating everyone as adults, with the primary focus not on the ability to sail, but on the ability to return safely. Cape Point is one of the most notorious areas for shipwrecks, with reason. If you can sail here, you can sail anywhere. Safety first is part of the ethos and culture of Cape Point Sailing Academy. I would recommend this training not only for local people, but internationally too where experience in difficult conditions, under the safety of highly experienced trainers can bring confidence (and at times questions) to your sailing abilities.
