Amazing coffee and food but unfortunitly it lacks in atmosphere. I feel the whole consumer experience makes it worth thr money and time. Music can definitly contribute towards the vibe of this place.Otherwise, I honestly think giving it this authentic German feel, pairing of their wonderful food with German beer would definitly attract locals and tourist because we do not have a place where we can experience food and beer like this in Hermanus .

German style deli at Whale Coast Mall. Good coffee with a great selection of deli produce to choose from. One can sit down and order from the menu or alternatively pick a few items and go make your own food at home. Includes cakes and other sweet items to enjoy while you take a break from shopping. Service is friendly and attentive. Good suggestions on food items.

Fantastic staff and food very good quality,I'd even go as far to say they are great value for money. I'd highly recommend for that authentic German food experience

Food wasn't great. Burger didn't have much taste. The eisbein was extremely salty. The coleslaw wasn't great. Best coffee though. Much better than mug and bean. And service is top notch

We had burgers. Beef patty was small & very over cooked, chicken breast was thick & very dry. Won’t be going back again.

Hartslief has the most interesting variations on the normal breakfast usuals - like the farmer’s omelette. Delicious! Always served with a smile and in comforable surroundings.

Truly great food, outstanding service, and excellent pricing! A pity we only have 3 months more of it as we are leaving the country - but will make the most of our time left at this wonderful restaurant!
