Nutwood Forest Pre Primary School

My kids joined Nutwood from the age of 5 months and I highly recommend the school. The teachers are loving and caring and embrace each child's individuality.Absolutely love the big, shaded playarea where the little ones can run free after a morning of learning in class.

I've always liked the idea of the Montessori philosophy, so we placed our daughter in Nutwood for her first year of pre-primary. We have to acknowledge that the teachers and assistants that we dealt with at the time were very dedicated and hard-working, and were there with their hearts in the right place. The fees are a little on the high side, which is fine if it's justified, but it seems that they're not. We eventually saw that there are serious issues at this school.The classes are very big and the teachers (directresses"!)

We are very happy with our choice of Nutwood Forest. Dropping off our 4 month old, we had the greatest piece of mind from day one. Staff are friendly and very professional. Would highly recommend Nutwood to anyone.As a bonus, living in Sea Point and working in the CBD, the school is ideally located in a safe area.

My Son loves going to creche every day. The teachers and principle are very helpful and have built a very close relationship my son and the kids in general. I would recommend Nutwood to everyone and have already :)

Nutwood is awesome. My son has been attending for a year and a half and has made many friends. The teachers are patient and the school organizes fun events for the family that creates a sense of community.

My daughter attended this school in 2013 and I was very pleased with my initial impression of the school. She had the most amazing Directress Ms Sweleni. My child blossomed and developed so much within the first term and we had a great relationship with the Directress. Sadly during the Easter holidays that year we received a most shocking email regarding the immediate removal of Ms Sweleni they had not found a suitable replacement but decided to promote Ms Sweleni to Head mistress to Phillipi branch.Needless to say the children lost an amazing teacher with no replacement they ran wild for almost six months with overworked assistants looking after them... it was a total undoing of all Sweleni’s good work after numerous parent group emails and a call for meeting was absolutely refused we were just sent a very curt email as it was in the best interest of the company and with the promise of a replacement who could not fill the shoes of the previous Directress I moved my daughter to main stream school where there was a lot more structure. But it was a year wasted. This school is an utter disgrace to the Montessori concept of teaching, it should be closed down the principal remains Joy Kamaldien a ‘manager’ who only has the schools profits at heart. The school location is great pricing at that time was great compared to what was on offer.This school was a MAJOR DISASTER to my child’s early development and a very big disappointment. I would not recommend this school as long as the same management remains as the Directress and assistants are at most ver dedicated but the environment of no management support is the worst combination in what should be a nurturing, caring and stable environment.

really satisfied with the professionalism and friendliness of the staff and the teachers. The place is very well kept, always clean with a massive playground. Your child never comes home with a dirty face but sandy shoes :) the school is also very active in providing activities and events to facilitate parents interactions. Definitely recommending it as it also very well located and is easy to access whilst being protected from the city noise and pollution

My son has been at the school for almost a year now and he absolutely loves it. It's a great relief to see your child leave the house with a big smile on his face every morning.The school has a spacious playground under the shade of giant trees, where the kids can play in the sand. They have bunnies and a vegetable garden to teach the children how to care for animals and plants.This is a Montessori school. You can expect your children to become independent and autonomous learners. They learn by observing and experimenting. If you want your child to be curious about life and nurture their intelligence from the get go then this is the place to be!

This is a very loving and caring school. I had my son start and finish here and my daughter is currently loving it in the toddler class. She started at the baby class. We looked at other schools, but Nutwood really ticked all the boxes.They take babies from 4 months onward. Ratio is 3 babies to 1 teacher. Toddlers about 7 per teacher. Pre-schoolers 12 per teacher. The kids get very nice lunch prepared by a dedicated cook. Aftercare 10 per teacher.I highly recommend this school.

Both of my sons attend (one in the baby class, and one in the toddler class) and we are happy at Nutwood. The teachers and assistants care about the kids and their play and development. It's a very nurturing and child-friendly environment.
