Never met such a arrogant business person. After asking for a quote from their website and via phone, and not getting a response (only after a few days), they are still adamant they have good customer service....Request via website was only actioned 3 days later, and the phone call resulted in a promise of a call back in 5 minutes, which never happened.Rather go to Probo spares, Masterparts of Good Hope Spares. They DO have customer service.

One of the most unpleasant experiences I've had doing business with any company in a long time. Out of principle I would never do business with them again because I feel that I cannot trust them.Be careful when you buy any dark or black items from them, the counter area is very dark and they will not point out any damage to you. If you don't see it, it is your own problem.I purchased this gear lever from them and the only thing I was told was that the top part was black as opposed to the silver of the original. I did not see the crack and it was not pointed out to me. For this they charged me R5500 which was R500 more than I was quoted over the phone. Upon taking it up with them they claim it is cosmetic and that there is nothing wrong with it.Not disclosing problems with items when selling them isn't only highly unethical but leaves one questioning the honesty of people who do business like that. The response to my request for a refund was that there would be an exorbitant 20% handling fee which would mean that missing a flaw that any upstanding business people would have pointed out would cost me R1100.Be very wary if you do business with these people else it could cost you dearly.Update & ResponseYour response is nothing but hot air. The lighting was still poor enough that neither I nor my son could see the crack and in the time you claimed I stepped out to take an important phone call and then proceeded to enquire about other parts and purchased those parts bringing my total spend in your business up to R7k but you choose to try and smokescreen with nonsense of camera footage that you know very well will show all this.I agree that the mistake was mine because I came in there believing that your calm demeanor was a sign that I could trust that you would not take advantage of your customers but alas I was mistaken.I also trusted that you would stick to the price quoted but hey, I drove all the way there and let it ride, another mistake on my side.Right from the moment that you informed me that you had the one left to the moment I purchased it you never once mentioned that it was damaged and even in our subsequent phone discussion, after acknowledging that it was cracked you still claimed that there was nothing wrong with it....how do you even consider that anyone would find that acceptable?... And at the same R500 higher price? The mere fact that I told you that I did not want the aftermarket gear lever because I wanted to keep the vehicle original is a clear indication that I would not be satisfied with a damaged part. Would you have put a gear lever in that condition in your car? I think not but you expect me to be satisfied with it.I did have other cheaper options but I thought that you sounded like a reputable business and that you were trustworthy...again I feel I was mistaken. Trustworthy businesses are upfront about damaged goods and if you claim I had enough time to see the damage, you had as much time to point it out but you knew that I didn't see it and chose not say anything and to let me pay full price. How can you even attempt to defend such business ethics? As for everything being above board, you and I clearly have different ethics and standards as to what constitutes being above board. I certainly have never sold anything to anyone without expressly pointing out the flaws because I actually have a conscience and don't believe in doing to others what I don't want done to me.You caught me, congratulations. I hope you are proud of yourself because you managed to sell the gear lever no one else wanted to a trusting and unsuspecting client who spent R7000 at your business but will never return because you caught me with one part. Way to go, that's how you build a business.I'm not interested in your smokescreens and self justifications. I'm not even interested in your deliberate omissions on what your cctv footage would show (phone call, etc) because it has little to no influence on my actual issue which revolves around business ethics and the bitter taste of being caught.

Was assisted by an arrogant male who refused to help with prices as he was not going to get a full sale on the vehicle, this person also had sly comments on prices given on other parts sold. Disgusted.

After numerous quotations from various well known repair shops and sales agents i finally met with very humble and helpful people at selective spares. From quotations that start from R7500 to R16000 from this so called well known places, at Selective Spares we managed to fix my opel corsa utility sport 1.7dti 2007 model in less than an hour for an unbelievable R2450, that included spares and fitment. You guys are amazing people, the best customer experience i ever had so far, keep up the good work. In my experience your shop deserves 10 stars.
