I made a telephonic enquiry, and received a call back for more information. To this I responded. When no response was received I enquired again and was informed that I would receive a call later that day. Again nothing has been heard. I suspect this company is only interested in large contracts. I will not call them again.

Installed and maintained aluminum windows and doors at our Sea Point functions hall and cleverly created a private baby and changing area near the bathrooms. So glad we used Metal Windows. There is nothing like a genuine local long running family owned and managed businesses for the best service, pricing, responsiveness and real personal pride in the work. You can't beat that.

I asked Metal windows to quote me for a window installation to replace my old wooden frame.Mike came out to look and he was very professional in his manner. In the end I opted not to use their services because his quotation was more than 4 times the quotation given by 2 competing companies.I wasn't able to establish how much extra or what kind of superior quality that they were putting into the job but I couldn't justify such an expensive quote so I moved on.

My dealings with metal windows is a long, still ongoing, and absolutely laughable saga. I’m just writing down facts as they happened. I cannot make this stuff up even if I tried.TLDR; There are other companies that will install windows for less than half of the money. My advice is to use one of those companies. Take the difference in cost and throw that money into the ocean. You will be better off. Take a look at the pics.My mandate to Metal Windows was to replace old wooden windows with aluminium in my small flat. I wanted a good product installed quickly and hassle free. I simply didn’t have the energy, or headspace, to micro manage. So, I opted to get a reputable window company with an impeccable reputation, happy to accept the inflated cost in exchange for the peace of mind.* The work took only two days. They told me the work was done and they were only to come back a third time do some final touch up.* I’m used to seeing the bottom of the kitchen window frame as I walk into my flat, but it couldn’t see it from where I was standing. The bottom of the window frame was below the windowsill. I didn’t really know what to make of this.* The spare bedroom’s window was installed skew.* One of the living room windows were also skew. By at least 15mm.* The bathroom windows’ glass where basically built into the wall. Yes. Literally. Take a look at the pictures. It would have been impossible to re-tile without tiling into the glass.* Trudy, who sold me the windows, made me feel silly to ask if they will install the window without breaking the tiles. Simply saying that they are professionals and that the guys have ways of doing it. The tiles around the windows were half broken without any attempt to make it look decent.* One side of the bathroom window was just placed flush with the wall, not even covered by plaster.* I don't understand how anyone can sign this off as a job well done. It feels insane to me.* The night after installation I got a message from the block’s caretaker. Even though I have a perfectly good toilet, one of the workers went down and made a big mess in her toilet. I’m not going to go into the details. Suffice to say the next day I delivered a bunch flowers to try and do some damage control.* After calling to raise my concerns, a foreman came out for the first time to take a look and gave an explanation for some of the problems. This raises the question: Shouldn’t there always be a foreman on site?!* Not satisfied, I phoned Dave Forman, one of the owners, who agreed that something doesn’t sound right. The next day Larry Forman came to take a look.* Larry told me that he was “embarrassed” by what he saw and that he is glad this happened to me and not someone else, because I am keeping calm. He explained the challenges of replacing wooden windows with aluminium, see the aluminium frames are thinner than the wooden ones, hence the windows sitting that low.* By this time I felt better about the world willing to work with Larry without kicking up a fuss (still thinking it is madness that the sales lady didn’t explain the wooden to aluminium challenges).* I told Larry I will ask someone else that I trust to fix up the window sills, and I expect Metal windows to pay for that. He was OK with this.* They returned to patch up the tiles around the windows and even though it wasn’t perfect, it was acceptable.* They fixed the one skew window but the other window was installed skew for the second time* Once again a foreman came out (where was he when they fixed the windows?), he used my spirit level to check the window. At this point I lost my cool and asked him why the workers that install the windows don’t have spirit levels! He didn’t have an answer. My only conclusion is that the guys installing the windows aren’t provided with levels.* At this point the windows were mostly OK. Then I opened the one and it made a grinding sound and there was resistance when I closed it. They came back and fixed it.*It goes on, but I reached the character limit; will try to post the rest as a comment.
