Great service and phenomenal food! We had an array of the the pizzas and the pastas and not a complaint was heard! To top it all of they had a superb wine list! A perfect setting for dinner on a cold winter evening or enjoy the beautiful pattio on a warm summer night!

I’m surprised at the high praise of this restaurant, as this was not our experience. Service was mediocre and partially inattentive.Everything we ordered was below average in flavour and quality. From starters to mains. Lacked in seasoning required for Italian food. Seemed overpriced for what you get. Coming from a hospitality background, we know costings very well and this wasn’t aligned with what you get. Don’t mind paying for quality, but tonight wasn’t quality.Won’t go further into detail but overall disappointing. If your pallet is as refined as ours, don’t expect to be blown away by the food. Maybe they were just having a bad night in the kitchen. Let’s hope so for their sake because the venue/setting is really lovely, intimate, cozy. Didn’t feel to give a lower rating, as I think it should be based purely on the food, but based on how the chef/manager/owner handled our poor food experience in the nicest way possible, I feel there is genuine potential here to be better.

The food is really fresh and tasty.I do think its hellishly expensive for a pizza or pasta.I thought the bruschetta starter was a big portion but it was unimaginative as it’s halved cherry tomatoes with leaves on a dry piece of bread for R88.That’s one dish I won’t be coming back for.I enjoyed my meal but I don’t think it needs to be that expensive. The tomato based pasta was very good. The pizzas looked very good too.As a vegetarian I was limited in my options as well but my partner was spoilt for choice.Service was good.Wine was overpriced.

Fantastic food, excellent service. A winter's evening might not be the best date night idea if you get cold easily. Fortunately, the warm, friendly staff make up for the crisp weather. Seating is tight so be prepared to overhear a conversation or two. Nothing like the courtyard view, to make you believe you are elsewhere in the world.

We were walk-ins, it was quite busy but they scrambled to get us a table and treated us like regulars - even after we told them we live in California! The Panzanella was quite large and full of anchovies- delicious! Starter portions of pasta are perfect and the pizza…aaahhhh!!!

Wish the food was the same standard as the venue!First time to this restaurant and will be my only visit.Bruschetta arrived and was completely burned so had to be replaced. Flavours unbalanced with the acidity of the olives completely overpowering the flavoursMy carbonara was completely disappointing. Was very dry, hardly any cream used and lacked the saltiness from the burned butter and pancetta as well as the creaminess of the dish. Literally had 3-4 bites and couldn’t eat any more as it was so dryWife ordered the porcini pasta, I tasted it and it was awful! Sauce tasted like old musty socks and for me was inedible.Like I said beautiful venue but the food for such an established restaurant was terrible!Owner was kind enough to remove the mains from our bill but after this experience I doubt we will be back.

Wow! What an experience!! The vibe was fantastic, and lovely service with the owner checking in regularly and greeting you at the door. Food was fantastic, couldn't fault anything. Definitely worth a visit.

Located on a quiet stretch of the heritage site that is Dorp Street, Stellenbosch, this lovely restuarant is a hidden gem behind a modest facade. Entering through a cozy and modern entrance area the main dining area is warm and atmospheric, while being well-lit and cleanly decorated. For those that know about this restuarant it is well sought after and it is almost always necessary to book a table well in advance.Though the service was a little slow to get our drinks order they recommended a truly delicious and well-priced bottle of italian variant red wine, from the Cape Interior. The Rosso, Idiom - Sangiovese, 2018.We had a melt in your mouth Margherita pizza, which arrived straight from a flaming pizza oven, within a very short period after placing our order. Thereafter we had the Napoletana and Burro Parmigiano pasta with tagliatelle. These dishes are both very classic and simplistic dishes, with few ingredients - leaving nowhere for the chef to hide. They were both truly exceptionally made.We spent the evening engaged in conversation over good wine and food. Suspended lights, strung up in a glass-walled courtyard frame a beautiful tree against the backdrop of the night sky.I highly recommend a visit to this exceptional restuarant for an authentic Italian experience. A must try for locals and visitors alike.Though I offer a word of caution to the restuarant - service could be slightly faster and the manager could offer friendlier reception.
