The manicure was okay but when it came to painting my nails it was a disaster! She did not allow time for the coats to dry before applying another coat of polish. I questioned her at the time as I knew it was still very wet. Unfortunately after I left the inevitable happened! Half an hour later, my nails were so wet and as some were damaged, I decided to remove all the polish. I could do it with a tissue it was still that wet! I was so disappointed! It was meant to be a treat as I can't afford to do this often. I definitely won't be going back!

First time at sorbet and I have really been disappointed. I asked the nail tech for acrylic tips but she insisted on doing gelish tips because she doesn't have time to do acrylic. It is only a week later and there my nails are lifting. I showed her a design of how I want my nails to look but she was so unprofessional and said she can't do that french design and she doesn't want to go home late. She did not let my nails dry properly and went over it with a top coat and it got smudged.

The staff are very friendly and the salon is clean and tidy. I found that the staff distract each other quite a lot with their own conversations during sessions with clients. I feel a certain lack of focus, attention to detail, and efficiency. I don't mind a little banter, but too much can make it feel like I'm sitting there, awkwardly intruding on their private conversations they're having in their own language. That being said, it wasn't an unpleasant experience and could just use a little more social discipline from the staff.

I managed to get a last minute appointment with Nomfundo. She is truly great at what she does and has a very calm and friendly vibe. The staff were very welcoming and I was also offered refeeshments. I absolutely love my nails and I couldn’t recommend Nomfundo and Ballito Sorbet enough!
